gained 7 pounds during TOM?!

I gain about 5, on average. Happens literally overnight. It comes off just just as quickly, thank goodness...0

I ALWAYS gain weight during my TOM and it's all water and blood. Ugh. I can easily see 3-8 lbs added on the scale any given cycle and it just annoys the hell out of me so I don't even weight during TOM. The weight usually leaves a day or two after the cycle.0

Even though I am through the menopause, I still find I "bloat" at what would have been TOM. I've found that if I just stay well-hydrated and exercise as normally as I can, then any superficial weight gain passes quite quickly.
However, everyone is different, so the biggest secret is to "listen" to your body - if you feel bloated and not hungry, don't eat but if you feel hungry, drink water or some other very low calorie drink (personally I like black decaff coffee but each to their own).0 -

Very interesting, thank you! I'm glad someone took the time to experiment with that.
I neglected to take into account that I was given several bags of IV fluids during my hospital stay, so instead of fluctuating my normal 2-4 pounds, I went all the way up to 8. The pp who bought up hydration reminded me. Thank you!0
