And anyone else, who hates pointless human cruelty to animals....

Sign please if you have a moment - this is the situation my gorgeous dog on my profile pic was rescued from. We do a little awareness raising, when we can.

Signed. I would take that dog, and as many of those hunting dogs, home and show it as much love and affection as I could possibly give. I have two little babies myself and they mean the world to me. How can anyone do this?

I have to confess that Pixie isn't too traumatised herself. In fact, she seems if anything to have gained a sense of entitlement. She - while I try to goad people into supporting these poor dogs - is in fact reclining in the sun on TOP of my garden table, waiting for her dinner to be served.

munny_p - where did your Ibizian hound come from? Pixie is a Podenco Andaluz.

I will also point out that many fighting dogs have the same story. (I have two rescue pit bulls)
They spend their whole lives making a profit for their owners and when they are no longer any use, they are just disposed of :-(

Yes I'm sure you're right. They've long been outlawed in the UK (unfortunately by breed rather than the use they're put to).

Wow, I didn't realise anyone bred them other than the less-than-wonderful-Spanish-hunters.

But I did see that they got Kennel Club recognition as a breed here not so long ago. While there are still so many from Spain needing homes, it will be some time before anyone starts breeding here.

Very different in the US of course. Your boy looks lovely! Great that he's on your ticker! They are so very athletic, Pixie is a daily inspiration which I never quite live up to ;(

Two more signatures, please - as it's late in the UK. I'd like to go to bed. Pixie wants to practice biting!

Or - much worse - gets into bed with you, takes it over, and stinks of today's roll in muck...

Come on, got to be someone out there who will sign...

Signed :) I have 2 rescued pits and they are the biggest babies ever! I hate how these dogs are judged and outlawed because of what people do with them.

Yes, there are quite a few responsible breeders in the states, most of whom also participate in rescue. Thank you- he is my pride and joy. :)
