I love C25K.. excellent program. I have 2 more weeks before I graduate and sign up for my second 5k RUN. Keep going even when You don't feel like it--- it's well worth the journey.

You all can do it! I graduated in August 2010 after never running before in my life! I just ran 10k the other day for the first time. I know you can all do it and you'll feel incredible when you're done!
    Good luck & congrats!
  • joining in and starting tomorrow.

I've done it before and ran two 5Ks right after completing it. Looking forward to getting back on a running programme.

    Hi,

I'm doing it as well. I've had to repeat a few days. I've made it to week 3, and this is where I've spent the bulk of my time thus far :)

Starting this up this week! Loaded it onto my phone a couple days ago and wanting to try it out.
  • Did week 1 day 1 tonight. It was a little easier then I expected but I hate running. I am hoping to change that aoon.
If I stick with it then it will be a great birthday present for me.

I'm starting tomorrow. I started earlier this year but stopped because I went on holiday for a month. Now I want to start again and finish it. I find that once I get to about week 3 I need to do each week twice before I can move on so takes me twice as long as everyone else! I'm keen for support buddies along the way.

Just came back in from Day 3 Week 1 of the Couch to 5K program with my wife. It was much easier today and I was less winded. I'm learning how to breath while jogging and pace my self better. Today i did Day 28 of the 30 day shred and Day 3 of Couch to 5k so I burned 992 calories doing 78 minutes of cardio exercises, including jogging and strength training :) Lets Go #teamfitandsexy

I'm on Week 2 / Day 2 - Love the app! It only has 3 runs per week and I've been running 4-5 times a week, so I repeat Week 1 / Day 1 a few times a week. I figure the extra running can't hurt. I can't wait to tell everyone I lost weight because of my iPhone!

I started last night after thinking about it for weeks. I was scared to do it but happy with myself when I was done. I downloaded the RunDouble app to my phone and loved it. Will be running again tomorrow night. Good luck everybody!!!

Remember you need a rest day in between each run day to rest ;) Don't do the program back to back!

Each session should take about 20 or 30 minutes, three times a week. That just happens to be the same amount of moderate exercise recommended by numerous studies for optimum fitness. This program will get you fit. (Runners who do more than this amount are doing it for more than fitness, and before long you might find yourself doing the same as well).

Be sure to space out these three days throughout the week to give yourself a chance to rest and recover between efforts. And don't worry about how fast you're going. Running faster can wait until your bones are stronger and your body is fitter. For now focus on gradually increasing the time or distance you run.

Run for time, or run for distance

There are two ways to follow this program, to measure your runs by time or by distance. Either one works just as well, choose the option that seems easiest for you to keep track of. If you go with the distance option, and you are not using a track to measure the distances, just estimate. It's not important to have the distances absolutely exact.

Before setting out, make sure to precede each session with a five-minute warmup walk or jog. Be sure to stretch both before and after.

    No problem Jamie :)

I'm watching Dr. Oz and studies state if you take 800 mg of a pure green coffee bean extract you will lose weight doing nothing. Here is the video that explains it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6RUxs8M7ajw Here is where you buy it at http://puregreencoffeebean.com/ I'm buying mines today :)

    I loving Couch to 5K Tomorrow I start Week 2 Day 1 :)

Today is the last day of the 30 day shred and exactly 3 months since I started working out and eating right! I lost a total of 8 inches from my body this last 30 days on the shred but the results from the past 3 months are awesome. Start date April 30th until now: My neck went from 14 inches to 12 inches, My chest went from 45 inches to 38 inches, My waist went from 39 1/2 inches to 31 inches :), My hips went from 44 1/2 inches to 38 inches, my upper arms went from 13 inches to 11 inches, my thighs went from 27 inches to 23 inches and i went from a flabby 200.8 lbs to a toned 175 lbs. I also went from a size XL /12 almost 14 dress size to a size 8 (with spandex that is loose on me) :) I love these results! Tomorrow starts Ripped in 30 for the next 30 days along with some Hip Hop Abs and Zumba for fun :)

I'm on week 4, day 3 as of tonight and I'm loving it! Week 4 day 1 I found challenging, but when I did day 2 I felt so much better and more motivated. Looking forward to day 3 tonight! Depending on how I feel tonight I will either repeat this week again or move on to the next week.
  • I understand your pain. I just started week 4 last night and it is the first really long one. My recommendation... find some music you love and don't check you run times until a song is over. This allows you to "zone" out a little so it doesn't seem as long as staring at the clock. Good luck!!!
  • The C25K program has been really amazing for me. I actually started before you all and I'll be finishing Week 8 Day 3 on Saturday morning. Like someone else said I have my music on and I'm good as long as I don't check the time. There were times when I wanted to give up, but I pushed through and it got better and better. I'm breathing better through my runs and my biggest motivation was signing up for a 5K at the end of September.

One thing I learned it to space your 3 days out, don't try and do them back-to-back. So I generally do Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings and its gets easier and easier. Good luck to all that are on this program or are considering doing it.

Thanks for the advice about spacing out the three days! I just started C25K today and am really antsy to do day 2 because day 1 went much better than I had hoped. But I had a feeling that might be a bad idea, so I'll wait till Saturday to do day 2. I didn't really feel like getting up any earlier tomorrow morning anyway. :)
