Last run of the month was 6.1 miles taking me to 120.1 MTD. Gooooaaaaalll! By the skin of my teeth. I've got a cut back week next month so I'm only shooting for 110. Making goal this month was stressful :drinker:

Amusing story (I'll force you people to read it to prevent myself becoming that guy with the running stories). I noticed that the Zombies, Run! App had and update today and it had been a while since I played it. So on the spur of the moment I decide to use that instead of Runmeter today. I forgot that every half mile or so so the app has you sprint to "get away from the zombies". So here I am running a middle distance, 6 mile long speed play workout, but I can't seem to convince myself to just ignore the zombie chases. I mean, I can't let them get me, can I?

Ohmygosh. I can't use that app it will scare the beejeezus out of me!!!

5.3 For tonight! Almost to my goal. Any suggestions on how much to raise my milage for next month's challenge??? I will have done 50 this month.

Some people do a 10% increase every month.

    8/29 = 5.5 miles
    8/30 = 4 miles

    49.75 MTD

Today is normally a long run day for me, but since I did 2 days in a run, I'm putting it off until tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm .25 to goal, so I did a quick half mile.

    8/31 = .5 miles
    10 miles for the week
    50.25 MTD

This is the most I've ever run. I can't wait til next month :)

I normally run outside each run, but this week I decided to incorporate one day a week of speed work where I increase my pace every half mile. I tried doing this outside while glancing at my iPhone on my arm to see the pace, but having to twist my arm and keep adjusting my pace is very distracting. So instead I decided to just do speed work on the treadmill. Does anyone know the best way to adjust pace outside without having to always look at an app? How do you begin to naturally know the speed you're going?

Just barely made it... had to go out (not that it wasn't cool in its own right) for a 5 mile run under the full moon on the beach last night to squeak by.

    Check in for week 5:

    Week 1: 16.2
    Week 2: 21.7
    Week 3: 25.3
    Week 4: 21.8 miles

    8/29: 4.0 miles
    8/30: 6.1 miles
    8/31: 5.0 miles

Total for Week 5: 15.1 miles

Total for Month to date: 100.1/100 miles

Thanks again to cooriander for hosting this challenge. It REALLY helps keep me motivated not to miss any runs.
