    I'm in. I use a Fitbit that tracks all my walking and I've started climbing stairs instead of taking the elevator all the time. The fitbit tracks that too. I aim at 10,000 steps a day and the fitbit syncs with MFP.

    I'm in. Would love an August walking challenge to keep me motivated. I've been walking outside on the evenings 3.5 miles/day.

    I'm in. Will walk at least 30 minutes a day. Goal = 45 miles for the month.

    2.18 miles on my lunch time walk, HRM and the tunes were on, made good time for me :)

    Wow! Here it is August already! I'm in! Since I'm just starting out and have been sedentary lately, maybe I'll shoot for 31 miles this month -- a mile a day. But since it's already 8 p.m. and getting dark, I'll have to make it up tomorrow. Good inspiration for me!

    Sounds like a plan ! I am new to this. Is there a goal in the challenge ? Or more of a chat topic ?

    I'm new at this, too. From what I can tell it's more of a chat topic for motivation. Which is great for us that haven't excersied in a "few" years!!! I'm starting slow... I'm going to try for 40 miles this month. Did 2 miles this morning. Good luck in you're walking!!!

    I am brand new to MFP (today is my first day, 8/1) and this is exactly the kind of challenge I need to get me going. I was able to do my walking today and I am feeling good. My personal goal is to do at least a 30 min walk in the morning and evening after dinner.

    *Curious – any thoughts on if a morning walk best before or after breakfast?

    Yesterday did 15 mins on a treadmill, 10 mins on a x-trainer and 22 min 1.2 mile walk.
    Today did a 70 min 2.5 mile walk :)

    Well I'm not doing so well on the August walking front!!
    Was busy yesterday and today has been a vile day weather wise! Think I'm going to have to get on the cross trainer and do some exercise indoors today!
