I think some people misread the OP.

I think what he was trying to say is that sexiness is not a shape or a size, it is an attitude. And sure that attitude brings great results but what he finds alluring is their drive to succeed and make it happen. It is the attitude of brushing off set backs, and forging forward. It could apply to a disabled person, a currently overweight person or a person who is not conventionally good looking.

You will hear a lot of people say that the sexiest quality a man or woman could possess is self-belief, which often manifests itself in a certain sense of confidence. I have seen women who were bigger have it in spades who would turn heads in a room because they seemed alive, engaged, vital. I have seen women with perfect bodies who were so obsessed with some tiny flaw that they didn't. I have seen men of both types too.

And no, I suppose eyecandy would not hurt when you are young and looking for visual inspiration. Or the "kick *kitten*" motivational advice. I happen to be a Yoda type friend, which would explain why I have no friends...but that is another matter.

Maybe you "didn't" mean to come off the way you did, or the people that followed you but that is exactly what it looks like. It is not all about looks and being about to have a healthy body. There are many that don't and although they work hard, I doubt if many if any are on your "eye candy" list. But like I said, there is a lot to be said for being smart and a hero and a good friend whether you have 6 pack abs and look like a pinup guy or girl.

I think there is also a lot to be said for "thinking" about our posts before we post them. I know I've had to learn that. Oh and I know your post was not meant to demean my brother or anyone else, it just does that naturally when you fail to recognize those that aren't perfect or may not have made the cut in being on your list.

I understand your bitterness, but this whole post is about attitude - and not about being in a "mutual admiration society". The reason we are all on here is about HELP - helping each other in a decision we've made to be fit. I think we're all extremely grateful that God gave us "healthy" bodies to do this with. Before you throw stones, remember that not all of us some genetic freaks. If you'd like to discuss my chemotherapy from 9 years ago we could - but I put that behind me. I'll pray for your brothers health, and for you as well...best of luck in your journey whatever it may be.

Silly - you should READ my posts. It's not all about the body - it's ALL about the attitude. The desire. The drive. The decision to be fit. I've seen many a women who are far from fit who are simply hot based on their attitude and direction. I think it a little more nuanced than that.

He is specifically talking about attractiveness and claims attitude is a major factor of that attractiveness. You claim that he doesn't have any non fit women in his friendlist and I have no idea because I haven't checked his profile. But have you checked the attitude of the fit people who are in there. Are they defeatist or they positive? Fit people have different attitudes too! I have seen loads of extremely whiny, defeatist superfit people.

Secondly, just because you find a picture of a superfit person hawt in a fitness site doesn't mean you deplore anyone who is overweight. Or you don't find them inspiring from a life perspective. We are talking about a site where you are hoping for the tools and inspiration to get/stay fit. In that context, do you think it is that wrong that he expresses admiration for fit women with positive attitudes.

Besides, if a person can't say he admires a woman for her combo of fitness and attitude without it being assumed he, by default, looks down on all women who don't meet that criteria, isn't that a bit harsh?

Okay, I actually went and checked out the OP's friend's list (sorry OP) and can vouch for a wide range of people from a size perspective and age perspective (and one white tiger). So, if people assumed that he was just cherrypicking women who looked like fitness models, that would not have been a correct assumption.

I think he was trying to give the women in his friend list- the vast variety of women a boost that he finds it hawt that they "bring it" and he finds that inspiring. You may object to his usage of the term "porn" but if his friends don't mind, well...*shrug*

And, they're not some fake, plastic chick like the pin-up girls. The "Girls of MFP" are tough, gritty, sweaty and hot! I've never been a 'porn guy' and with MFP - I never will be!
