If you like coffee, buy a small jar of regular old instant coffee - make your chocolate one and add a teaspoon of instant coffee - beter than starbucks.
This, a million times this.0 -
I use optimum nutrition ( I have many flavors)
Chocolate (if im going for a blender bottle)
2 scoops ON whey
1 cup almond milk
1 packet splenda
(optional for texture! 1 tablespoon chocolate pudding)
Chocolate if going for a shake
2 scoops ON whey
1/2 cup almond milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
Strawberry (I never go for a blender bottle. FYI this flavor is nasty by itself but great in shakes)
2 scoops ON strawberry whey
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup almond milk
Cookies and Cream Flavor (blender bottle)
2 scoops ON Cookies n Cream
1 packet splenda
1 cup almond milk
Banana Cream (If going for blender bottle)
2 scoops ON Banana Cream
1 packet splenda
1 cup almond milk
Banana Cream (if going for a shake)
2 scoops ON Banana Cream
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup almond milk
Vanilla Ice Cream Flavor (if im going for a blender bottle)
2 scoops ON Vanilla Ice Cream Flavor
1 packet splenda
1 cup almond milk
Vanilla Ice Cream Flavor (if im going for a shake)
2 scoops ON Vanilla Ice Cream Flavor
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon PB2
I could go on but you get the idea. I almost ALWAYS go for almond milk (not because of the calories which ARE only 40 per cup) but because I think it makes the shake thicker than normal milk and water.
Best of luck!0 -
You can pretty much go all mad scientist and make 'em a zillion ways.
I like to use soy milk + vanilla ice cream flavoured whey + ice after my workouts (TONS of protein). Sometimes I throw in a bit of greek yogurt or cottage cheese for bonus protein.
For a pre-workout treat I'll usually do something like whey + water + frozen berries + 1 ice cube.0 -
unsweetened almond milk all the way, I prefer the Almond Breeze brand, only 40 cals(soy milk has tons of sugar)
One of my favorite recipes:
1 scoop of protein powder
banana
one cup almond milk
1 tbsp of almond butter
a bit of local honey
cinnamon
soooo delicious, sometimes I drink it as a dessert!
My recipe is almost identical to this. And yes, it is yummy.0 -
The Pro Complex from ON tastes better and you can mix it with anything. I usually just use water and ice in a blender to make a shake0

I do all types of things, but my 2 favorites are:
2 scoops chocolate whey
2TBS almond butter
1 chopped frozen banana
8oz milk, 4 oz water (water to adjust consistency to my liking)
OR
2 scoops vanilla whey
0.5 cups frozen fruit of choice (strawberries today)
1 chopped frozen banana
8oz milk, 4 oz water (water to adjust consistency to my liking)
Both are AWESOME and more like a dessert or treat to me.0 -
I use the Optimum Nutrition Whey as well, lotsa diff flavors. I make them with water when I'm lazy and I get a lil more creative when I'm not. 1/2 cup cottage cheese/greek yogurt for some extra protein, fruits, nuts, PB2, vanilla/chocolate dry pudding mix (sugar free), cocoa powder, caramel syrup, the possibilities are endless. Maybe that's why I love protein shakes. :laugh:0

I drink them as my post workout/breakfast. I do ON whey double chocolate, cup of almond milk, frozen fruit, TBS of Peanut butter chia seeds and macca root (sometiimes i add spinach too). Its alot of calories, but as a breakfast, it works for me..plus right now, with BFing a baby, I'm looking for ways to gfet in more calories since I'm trying to get off grains0
