Bananas are fine. Some people fear the sugar content in bananas. In most cases I think that's silly.0

Some of those ads on the side of the page are crap. That banana add is one of them
Get yo' banana on!
P.S. Bananas are great for you, but technically they're on the botttom of the food chain when it comes to fruit that give the most nutritional punch. But they're definately not bad.0 -

LOL! Sorry, I had a mental image of your husband strapping bananas to his legs.
As long as you plan for it (so that it doesn't put you over your daily calorie allowance), you can eat it. Bananas are not evil.0 -
I have a banana nearly everyday - usually for breakfast (on my cereal, with yogurt etc) or if I have calories left over after exercise. It's slow release energy food (so I've heard) and keeps me going until lunch time0

God, I eat so many of them I think I'm going to turn into one! Bananas are awesome, it's a fact.....0

Bananas are a great food. In some diabetics the higher GI value raises blood glucose a little quickly (but not in all, I'm diabetic and I can eat them just fine). If you're not diabetic or pre-diabetic, bananas are awesome.0

I love bananas but I can only eat them when they are green. A few brown spots and I'm done.0

My old boss used to call bananas "nature's Mars bar" (I know). I personally don't like them but if I did, they would be my pre- or post-workout snack of choice. As far as I'm aware, they are fine as long as you make use of the sugar hit, i.e. before exercise, or to replenish you after exercise. They're not so good if you eat them and then sit on your *kitten* and do nothing (although I guess that's the case with any food!).0

Unfortunately, there's a whole lot of crap ads popping up here, but hey, its free, so I guess they need to sell advertisements even if its for things that don't fit the websites goals.0 -
This seems like a silly fear. If its a natural food, no problem. If its packaged, be wary.0

I used to eat a banana before the gym in the morning because I thought it was healthy, I found a piece of bread is less calories and less sugar and gives me the same energy.0

But it's also less Potassium, less Vitamin C, B6, Manganese, and probably fiber0 -
Great read thanks0 -
I feel like people saying bananas are bad now is akin to people saying how terrible avocado was for you in the 90s. That is, until some scientist stepped up and explained the benefit of good, natural fats and sugars.
If it's nature grown, it's generally okay by me. I have half a banana every morning in my oatmeal. I'll snack on an additional one here and there if I'm really achy or sore. They really help me.0 -
I LOVE bananas! I have one pretty much everyday & they haven't hindered my weight loss. I say enjoy your bananas!! :drinker:0

Doesn't matter, I eat nutritious foods all day.0 -
Ok, I haven't eaten a banana since the beginning of september because of that stupid blinking add. Just got around to looking into if bananas are bad or good for your diet (when trying to lose weight). We always have them in my house. My husband eats one a day and my girls split one a couple times a week. I liked the article cited. But I especially like the comment about eating it before or after your work out. I think I might eat on soon now, and reintroduce it into my diet as I need more potassium.0

That's just an advertisement. Ignore it. Bananas are good for you!0

A few brown spots means the sugar content is up, so they are yummier! *Lots* of brown spots means, time to make some bread!0 -
I have a banana for breakfast 3 or4 days a week. Bananas are fine...and very tasty.0

Love bananas! Some people with sugar issues or on restricted diets can't eat them, or can only eat them in moderation, but the same can be said for many foods. I love freezing bananas and making a protein smoothie out of them.0

BANANAS BANANAS BANANAS!!!!
I love 'em.
I hate that ad. It is the dumb.0 -
Bananas are great! I am new to working out and trying to lose the healthy way, but all my friends that work out regularly eat a banana before or after working out. A year ago, I was on this very restrictive diet, in which I was only allowed milk and veggies (on alternate days). With in a few days, my legs started cramping up. It was due to a lack of magnesium, potassium, etc. I started having a banana a day and it worked wonders. The diet did not help me in the long run, but I started believing in bananas.0

well i love me my bananas, there not bad, like for me bananas help with my cramps cause of the potassium and its good for if you get leg cramps, and some other benefits, some people just take things way to seriously. you just gotta do what works for you tho on your weight loss0

No doctor ever looked at an overweight patient and said, "Clearly, you have been eating way to many bananas, cut back on the bananas"0
