Building upper body strength?

I have a goal to run a mud run/warrior dash next year. But I need to build my upper body strength.
I have never been able to do a pull-up (ever) and I know some of the obstacles on these races are climbing over things, climbing ropes, that sort of thing. So I was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions on how to build up my upper body strength?

From a Warrior Dasher to a future one, I wouldn't worry too much about the rope climbs and other climbing obstacles. The Dash will not be as hard as you think, its not really hard core, more of a fun experience. If you can climb a ladder then you will be able to get over anything they have there.

That is good to know. I am currently doing C25K to get the running part down, and was more worried about the upper body stuff. Now I 'm not so worried.
Thanks, and they do look like so much fun. I can't wait.
