Beautiful Blues Week 4

Thanx Chrissy!! I needed that wake up too!!
So, no change for me today, buddies..... Last Thursday (after the weigh in - of course) I was down 2 lbs. But with my bad weekend it was back up again. I feel like I work out & behave during the week just to misbehave during the weekend. I've really got to refocus & get myself in gear if I'm going to meet my goal!
Step & Tone class this morning, in about an hour! So, I better get movin'!!
Make it a great day, everyone & thank you all for being here!
Sandy, you've done so well to throw it away on the weekends. What are your doing to misbehave? have bad food? Alcohol? not logging? not enough water?
I know right!! Not logging, not drinking my water & having my husband around all day really throws me off my routine! It's good that I can pull it back together to maintain by Wednesday, but I definately know better!!
I'm not looking for validation by any means, I'm just sharing my struggles & hoping you all do as I say & not as I do!!
On a good note, today has been PERFECT & I just finished up burning a whopping 500 + calories today! Go me!!!0 -
No what I just thought of....I didn't even really get upset over the car - I knew I could walk - no big deal.....before my weight loss journey, I probably would have cried and not even gave a thought to walking home WITH the groceries!!
You know I was just going to mention something about that.
That's fabulous, isn't it?.. Before you started your journey, you would have possibly gotten upset, thinking how am I going to get the groceries home.
Perhaps try and get a drive from someone or take a taxi.
I had something similiar. I dropped off my car at the mechanics the night before. The next day I didn't have a ride to go pick it up.
I said to myself. I know I can walk it. Not sure how long it will take but who cares (back in spring). So I started, and walked about 8 kms (5 miles) in just over an hour to pick up my car.
That's when I started my journey, and kept walking more to lose weight.
So I know a bit about cars. Why won't it start?
Does it "turn over? ie it spins but no fire to get it going?
or do you get a click click when you start it?0 -

I know the feeling, I haven't done well previously on weekends. I don't log anything.
I would do well during the week, do bad on the weekend and then get it going again on monday to be ok by wednesday.
Tired of that routine.
One of the things I had previously done was have 1 or 2 beers on a saturday. NO MORE.
I would eat less meals, try to have meals same time as OH, it's not easy. NO MORE
I eat 6 times a day, just like I was eating during the week.
I'm the type of guy that can have the same thing to eat 3-4-5 times a week if I like it.0 -

Well my hubby thinks it needs a new battery - the cables had the crud and he cleaned them up yesterday and it started fine then but not today. It half way sounds like it wants to turn on but then just ticks....a friend said he had the same problem and a new battery resolved it - hobby coming home a bit early so he can check it out...
That's an awesome story of how your journey started!0 -

I am bad about repeating food too - I do try really hard to have a variety. i have missed logging foods for the past few weekends too - being out of town or out shopping all day and eating out - sometimes it's really hard to catch back up-so far it's not hurt me but I know that my focus must remain - and by focus I mean log it all even if its bad!0 -
My focus is the difficult part too! Lately I have been so busy I have maybe logged 3 days out of the month. No wonder I am not dropping! :noway: Maybe that should be part of our challenge this next week.
Chrissy, You are awesome!! It would have been so easy to get caught up in the negative but you didn't. :flowerforyou: I think you are amazing!
It is interesting to me how so many people can find happiness just by taking care of themselves. My husband hasn't quite realized that yet. He is in a depression--overweight, the economy, he is in construction and has really felt it this year. It is too bad I can't make decisions for him, but I guess that is free agency, isn't it.
Happy weigh in everyone. I only have 5 weights so I will put up the chart tomorrow. After I get a few more.

I'll be back (say it like Arnold)
Going on my 5 mile run! Wish me luck0 -
Chrissy, have a good run. Remember to drink LOTS of water when you get back
I know it's hard when out and about. It happens every now and then. You've done a great job so far.
I'd like to share my experience with repeating food/meals, it might help, it might not.
For me, I can eat the same meal every day. Why not if I enjoy it?
It's just fuel for our bodies. We got so hung up on what food taste like, that's how we got
into this state with these problems.
I've had this every day give or take. For the last little while.
weekends for breaky, I'll have egg white omeltte(egg beaters) with some peppers/onions/ham
week day breaky 1/2 cup multigrain cheerios, 1/4 cup oats, sometimes 1/2 banana
protein shake with 1/2 banana
lunch some protein(usually chicken) on whole wheat bread with some mustard
baby carrots.
lunch #2 chicken/beef/pork with vegetables
snack apple, almonds, 1/2cup cottage cheese.
snack fiber/lara/zone bar
Dinner more protein and veggies
Sometimes another protein shake at night.
Then repeat.
My cheat meal is lightly breaded chicken on whole wheat with sweet and hot peppers.
or a Chicken/Beef trindadian roti.
So for me. I don't log meals on the weekends, or I stopped/forgot, but I try to keep to the same routine I ate during the week. Some people might think it will get boring. Whatever meal it is that get's boring I just replace to something else.0 -
I agree w/ you all, I repeat my meals too! It's so much easier & I know what I can eat to fill me up right. It's so hard when I'm home with the hubby because he likes a bit more variety in his meals & loves to have a big breakfast on the weekends.
Chirssy, I hope that you enjoyed your 5 mile run!! You're awesome!!0 -
my big down fall with being home all day is just eating cereal for my breakfast and lunch then if we have make yourself suppers i eat it again.
When I started back I was 167 to 168 and I got on the scale and I'm 161 I couldn't believe it.
I need a kick in the rear i can't get to the exercise part. :explode:0 -
O BTW I had like the best birthday ever with 2 cheat days dang I will be making that. up0
-
I agree with you all. I repeat meals all the time. They taste good, they are safe... why not? My sister calls me boring but it works for me. I think it also helps with planning meals and grocery shopping. My weekends usually change but I still log my foods on the weekends too so I keep an eye on it.
Whatever works for you!
I did a step aerobics class last night. First time at my gym... I have a lot of moves to learn  It was a great workout though... I was dripping with sweat and my legs are sore today.
Have a good day blues!0 -
Was not feeling great last night so I took the night off. Feeling much better today. Might get the new Wii fit plus today and give it a try tonight. Missed my water challange yesterday, but I know I will make it today I need to flush my system :drinker:0
-
Good morning everyone.
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that eats the same meal.
As we said, whatever works for US. Who cares what someone else might think.
Well I think I'm going to step it back up this week. I would like to have a nice birthday present next wednesday if my weigh in takes me out of the obese category 191.9 according to BMI on MFP.0 -
The run was tough last night but I did it and ran every step of the 5 miles (except when I did have to stop twice to cross the highway at an intersection) I felt nauseous after - maybe needed more water earlier in the day too.
I think that's the longest run I've done so far - and I feel good today - it's amazing to see how much stronger my body keeps getting!0 -
Guess what - with my 5 mile run yesterday I burned over 850 calories...so I treated myself to a Hot Fudge Sunday from McDonalds...it was a nice treat - haven't had one in over a year!
I was still short on calories - I didn't realize I'd burn that much - now I know!

Chrissy, all I can say is you are awesome!! I need to get that kind of fire in me again. Maybe I just need to sign up for another race. That always gets me motivated!
As for repeating meals I do it all the time. That is what gets me through, if I had to make every single meal and not have leftovers I would go crazy. I really love to make a pot of the biggest loser chili and eat it every day for lunch. mmmmit is so good!
Here is the new thread. We did pretty good this week if I say so myself. Maybe we should challenge each other to losing at least one pound a piece this next week.
