here i am in a different city traveling for work. actually, my co-worker and i went for a long walk around the city. And for lunch & dinner I ordered salads. Ok, had 2 drinks as well with dinner, ok they were sex on the beach and 1 homemade wild blackberry brandy while soaking in the hotel very hot tub. So, it seems I'm starting this conference off with a BANG. I did NOT order any dessert! tempted but did not.
and would you believe this conference is starting at 730am each morning. yuck........
I'm finding the city on the harbor quite charming. The hotel is very nice and I got the top floor. My co-worker is very jealous.... she got 10 floors below me. her view is the a building roof top, I got the city skyline.
My daughter seems to be doing better....however she hasn't been living with me (joint custody and now my work travel). Thank you again for all your prayers. We start counseling next week. I felt a big victory when she hugged me, told me she loved me & will talk to me. Could be the bruise is gone my face is back to normal...she's not seeing a reminder. I will tell you this my own self is coming back now too.
last night my gs troop was in a local halloween parade. We seemed to walk the parade route in 40 minutes in a leisurely pace. then back to the parking lot.
so i have been walking.... next week i'll get back to the running 3x week.

LOL Jacque, I dont daily check my weight but I usually check fridays and tuesdays, it was so hard to not look this morning, but I know I get upset when I look and its being evil :grumble: and that leads to eating :grumble: Not today.
Ok Kelly we are on and I will try to get more exercise in. Did not do any yesterday, unless you call running to class that would be 10 mins. of exercise but not going to count that. I will walk today and start getting up a little earlier and doing a 15 min. work out a couple times this week. I figured with this challenge the prize was to enjoy a great meal for the holiday's.

beautiful and sunny here, but 24* this am! first time i have had some heavier frost on my bus windows...a reminder that winter is coming! yesterday was good the whole way thru.....now, if i can just tell myself that this is the way it's gotta be, i will only move ahead in this game and the scale will move down. i walked 3miles with Leslie, and stretched 25 with Denise, but today i want to get it done earlier and see if it will boost my energy level. was a 'clean' day for eatin' and right on for calories. 8 water in and gonna try to increase that for today. 1/2 day of school here, but still working in the house...
artichoke ~ nice job with the workouts last week, that put us over our Team 200 hr challenge!sounds like you have a good plan for keeping at it! what a great way to relieve stress and improve your heart health! you'll be slim and trim in no time!

Dear son hid the scale last night and I am having near panik attack!!
but oh the psych that is going on in my head. So wanted to cheat last night but couldn't because sombody said no to my scale
hahahahaha:laugh: I am so going crazy. Ok this is how bad it is. I literally sat like the great thinker and said to my self that since I didn't gain weight after the weekend overindulgent I should be ok. Then Aunt Rosie showed up ( have not seen her in 6month:mad: Now I remember how much I hated Aunt Rosie)so my thinker was saying hey that cool so you might actullay weight less since you always got bloated right before she came before. AGH!!!!!!!! the agony
I do have to admit I am trying harder because i am sooo afraid the if there a gain on Friday I will so upset! So in light of a new day I have to admit I have been using my scale as a crutch. Yes I admit as long as I didn't gain I was ok without the lost! How self destructive have I been. Dare I say?:embarassed: maybe I need to get rid of the scale? (panike building!:brokenheart: ) OMG (G is for goodness by the way) This is really a challage for me. Kelly i guess I should thank you for this but still in uncharted teritory so thank with a grunt (I so love ya) Now no matter what I have to go to the gym today becuase I dont know oH!! the MAdness!!

i love ya too Jacque....when I get serious, i get a little crazy too, well, kinda silly and many may think i am an obsessing psycho...but hey, it's what gets me motitvated and keeps me pumped and on top o the world! you just keep a 'thinker-ing".....seeee, we do have an inner authority!! :bigsmile: it will get us where we want to be dear! loss, gain or the same, just move forward..... if you do all that you can to be healthy, stay happy and positive, i say you still WIN!! :drinker: eat nutritiously and your body will be a smilin :bigsmile: , workout and everything will be a singin'! ooohhhhhhhhhhh what harmony!! and every day we will have the mostest, happiest, healthiest ship to sail thru every day!! :happy:

Glad to see I am not the only fired up Pepper. :laugh: I did my walk today 2.5 miles in 34.5 mins, that is how fired up I am. Getting faster.:drinker: Eating veggies and fruit drinking water. NO will not look at the snack basket at the end of my desk, that is for the clients. :laugh:

Hey all, we gonna start a new Exercise Challenge? A month from today is Thanksgiving. Give me some ideas on how you want to do this... it could be a personal goal ( hrs ) or a team one. I honestly think we could do double the amount (like 400) in hours if we all work towards 4 to 5, 30 minute workouts a week or more. I know I really want to push myself here. I have some favorite sweaters that I would love to look slimmer in. Plus, I love the layer affect too. But it isn't just for that, it is for my overall s-e-l-f! Let me know what you want to do here....plz share your ideas!!
walked 3 miles with Leslie and stretched 25 with Denise this am.... all meals have been 'clean' , and water is at 6-ish.

another sad evening on BL...why o why do they do this! :sad: i have loved Abby since day 1. she just always knows what to say and she has the sweetest heart. I was really hoping she would make it to the end, and it is still possible for her to win, but dang, she is amazing! and the stories tonite with Jillian, Amanda, and Shay. Jeeeeeezzzz!
just breaks my heart. big ol sobbin mess here again! :sad: I also wonder what is goin on with Danny?? wonder if he has some medical issue or somethin'? he just isn't losin like the others. I think some week we should try a challenge of lose "x" amount of wt in a week...just an idea.

hello everyone...
well, let me say the breakfast buffet in the hotel. I did well having lots of fruit, little egg, 2 bacon....
felt proud of myself until I tasted the food -- even the fruit tasted blah, yucky, nasty. The worst part was the price. Very expensive. Wont be eating here for breakfast again. I think tomorrow it will be a bagel from the Dunkin Donuts and a protein shake. for this bagel we will walk the 2 blocks.
lunch break was short due to my co-worker forgot a necessary toiletries item so we ran to the local pharmacy/drugstore then hit mcdonalds. Normally, I don't eat mcdonalds. Let me tell you -- the chicken selects were dry. Again another meal that was blah, yucky, nasty.
Ok, let me state my conference began at 7am. Last session I was in ended at 6:45pm. Yes, that late.
So when the 5:30pm session served nuts, dried fruit, peanut MMs, chocolate chips, raisins I ate a bit too much. I will this snack was rather tasty and hit the hunger spot well.
Well, dinner was late and at the local seafood. I had one drink -- some sort of pink martini with a portion of the sale towards breast cancer and cream of crab soup with shrimp salad. This meal was very tasty and very filling. Could not finish the salad.
Learned today all three of my children have flu like symptoms. Last week my hubby did. So I will state I am thankful to away from home because you know who would be hit next.... ME.
Thus, I spend my birthday away from home. And I had NO cake today.
I'll vent right now.... happened to be flipping through the tv channels & came across a show about body modifications. What got my attention wasnt the tattoo or piercings or other cultural customs (outside North American or Europe) -- what got me hooked was the plastic surgery to give a MAN a more rounded *kitten*. Yup, the show has a segment on a man who want a bigger - more rounded booty. So like breast implants for women, he got butt implants. And in the end (get it....heheheh) he was very happy with his new butt......

I did walk the 2 blocks to the dunkin donuts for a bagel & tea.
well, the tea is ok.... the bagel was toasted too much that it was brick like. Of course I didn't notice it until I walked the 2 blocks back to the hotel. this dunkin donuts had no seating.
So, my breakfast & lunches in this location haven't been that good. Today, I'll walk the 3 blocks to the Subway for lunch.

Sounds like you are having quite the experience on your work travels and food choices....it is so tough when there aren't many options for a healthy lifestyle...i bet your taste buds will be happy to return home...and hopefully your family will be feeling better too. around here, some kids have been out a week from the flu, but most about 3 days. take care and keep with the attitude!

hey Jacquesharing the visitor here as well...and hopefully on the down side of her....today is my errands day...so hoping i can go and return with no accidents:embarassed: i think right now BL is my fav show! it is just so intensely motivational!! :drinker: will have to do my workout afternoon, but brkfst was clean, and takin some clean snacks along today. think i might jump on my treadmill later for some speed walk/jog bursts!
ok, you gals.....i miss my scale.....i am gettin excited for Friday just so i can see it on my bathroom floor again.....gosh, it is prob missin me too, poor thing, some where in the dark, no one to make happy or ruin a day......i sure hope it there won't be any revenge?! :huh:

Hey everyone, sorry I've been MIA. I just haven't felt very sociable. I've been good this week and stayed away from the scale. :grumble: Hopefully, Friday will be a good day for the weigh in. I've been doing good on my food except for Sunday when my DH convinced me to have a cheat meal. I had french fries for the first time in a very long time. They were so good!! I'm still doing C25K. Hopefully, we will get to go bike ride tonight. The weather here has been so rainy we haven't been able to go much, maybe once or twice a week.
I’m game for the new exercise challenge. I know we can do it!!! :happy:
I watched BL last night, too. I hated to see Abby go. But least she continued to lose once she got home, 80 lbs!! That’s awesome.

thanks all for the birthday wishes.
I had a block of "free" time so I escaped to the shopping/food center across the street. Easily said "no thank you" to the free samples of fudge.
I had packed 4 protein shakes to bring w/me. Thus, I'm having one instead of rich creamy delicious fudge.
Lunch was a subway blt... not bad.
I'm going to ask one of my co-workers to photograph me besides one of the "sights" here. Then if technology agrees with me I'll post it here. AND if technology really agrees w/me I'll post it on my newly formed facebook page. When I get an email from my retiree parents yesterday estestating they have a facebook page I felt obligated to create one for me. So that's what I did last night when I got back to the room.
Well I need to run back to the sessions.

Well I just found out that my nephew and his wife second child that due in March is a girl!!! we are so excited for them. they already have a little 1 year old daughter so now she gets a sister!
Well hope to get to the gym tomnight since I let Aunt Rosie stop me yesterday. Eating good so far today, so no complaints.
So i notice evryone is staying strong on the challege on nott looking at the scale! yeah team!!!0 -

I'm doing okay. I finished the 1st week but I haven't decided if I'm going to do it again or start the 2nd week. I was only able able to go outside for one of the days (stupid weather :grumble: ) and it was harder than on the treadmill. I expected that, but it has me worried that I'm not really ready for week 2 just yet. I need to decide tonight because tomorrow will be the next day that I'll do the program.
I do wish I had someone to do it with, but I'm doing it alone.It's okay, though. When I first started losing weight, I counted on DH to go with me to the gym. He pretty much stopped after a few months. I let it pull me down for a few weeks before I came to terms with the fact that I have to do this on my own. Not having someone to go with me couldn't be an excuse.

maggie - beautiful picture of your daughter & soon to be son in law.
The Irish pub had a rather small portion size so I was doing good. Then the "whiskey and gingerale" drink was potent. The dessert was not a large portion. Only one I had this week. Then my coworker wanted to go to another pub... we ended up in little Italy section and I had 1 more drink. Once home I will do better,... I know I will....
Oh and this town got my money. between the souvenior shirts for the kids, sweatshirt for hubby, sweatshirt for me and bling for me (2 rings and 1 necklace) my luggage will be heavier leaving. However despite the 3 hour ride, I'm unsure when I'll be back again. I rather travel on someone else's dime vs mine... lucky for me I do travel for work several times a year.
I'm still trying to figure out facebook. I had some photos of family in my email but... having trouble getting one album to post a photo. In time ladies, in time.
I'm thinking once home, I'll post some of my Germany vacation photos. Unfortunately, these are the "larger" version of me. Well, perhaps I'll be choosy on which ones.
