AmyPyr, this is why we are glad Halloween candy only shows up in the house ONCE a year!!! Of course, it's the beginning on the candy holidays..... In my house, when Halloween candy is gone, it will be replaced with Christmas candy, and then Valentines candy, and then Easter candy. I don't get 'candy-free' again until May!!!! :noway:0 -

My apartment complex has a lot of great hills for walking and it's all in a really convenient 1.5 mile loop. When we take the dogs, it's a nice workout for everyone. But I definitely need to rethink my loop or turn around to jog downhill or something when I start C25K again.
I did figure out something about me and water drinking though. All day I have a glass of something to drink and in the afternoon I usually want some sort of caffeine, but apparently if I fill a big glass of water and set it beside me in the morning I drink it. I've already got 3 cups today, and that's (sadly) more plain non-flavored water than I usually drink in a day.
I also fell back in love with spaghetti squash. I cut it in half, clean out the squash "guts" and then sprinkle each half with salt, cumin, garlic, and a little bit of cayenne pepper. Bake it edible side up at 375 degrees until it's pretty squishy and then scrape the spaghetti-like pieces out of the skin with a fork. The seasoning makes it great to eat with some cheese and butter (macaroni and cheese style) or with spaghetti sauce for really low calorie Italian. The squash is around 40 calories per cup, and it's really filling and reheats well. Yum!0 -

Once upon a time when I was being good, I would FORCE myself to chug a small 8 ox glass of water before I allowed myself to have anything flavored. It worked well to get in regular ole water. I need to do this again.0 -
Ali - Thanks for the recipe - I have a spaghetti squash sitting on the counter. Mac and cheese style sounds good for dinner tonight. I've been really bored with dinner lately and need to find some new recipes.0

I confessed on FaceBook yesterday that my kids decided they don't like Almond Joys and my daughter doesn't like Snickers :noway: (how is that possible?!) . Those little babies were calling my name big time! MIL replied that I should buy earplugs! :laugh: I should have listened to her. :grumble: I ended up eating about 4 fun size snickers & 5 fun size almond joys. Add it up, and that's a lot of full size candy bars! To make it worse, I just logged in a fun size snicker at 80 calories! If the Almond Joys are the same, I ate 720 calories in little candy bars yesterday! :sad: :sad: That was an eye-opener!
I hate when I look up the calories AFTER I've already eaten something. I went to lunch at Jason's Deli a couple months ago and had some of those yummy bite-size gingerbread muffins from the salad bar. I didn't realize until I got back home and logged them that they were 220 calories EACH. I had eaten 5 - yikes! Let's not mention the mini candy bars that I ate last night. :noway:0 -

i don't like being the winner of the most gained in a week. so i have had enough. changing things up here.
i have a cup that holds 3 cups of water w/ice. i measured to see where i had to fill it. i am on my 4th one. only one has been straight water. the other 3 have been flavored water. i have put away the candy. DH wanted to buy the after halloween candy this year. he never does. so it's in the freezer now. i filled my water cooler full. dinner is planned.

Hmmm ... this isn't going well at all ... it's only 3:45 PM and I still have to have my supper and my calories left for the day is at (negative 41). I'm pretty sure I'll be going over today. Oh well ... I'll eat something nutritious and act like I didn't go over during the day ... I'll just carry on. Hope you're all doing better then me. It all started with that Whole Grain Raspberry muffin from Tim Hortons for breakfast and it's been downhill since. :blushing: Can you believe they have 400 freaking calories???0

just finishing up my 5th glass. and that's it. i am visiting the bathroom every 30 mins if that long. glad i have 3 bathrooms in my house. so no matter where i am one is close by.

Here's Amy's new puppy. (I think this will work.) She's adorable! I'm sure my puppies would love to have a new addition to the family, but my apartment limits us to 2 dogs. It's probably a good thing, since I might otherwise have 5 or 6. :-)
