As a casual music listener and non-musician, I just don't get the Nickelback hate. So they play a lot of hard rockish songs that some bands only get one of to actually be played on mainstream radio. What is wrong with this? Why is playing music a lot of people like to listen to bad?

Can't see why that would be bad, if it's music and you like it, then what difference does it make. I like all kinds of music, except classical, and Nickelback has some great stuff.

It's the sell-out mentality. I admit, I used to love them too. But the quality of their music went down when they went commercial. You shouldn't have to sacrifice the music for the fame and fortune.

i agree with you on this. i have a lot of friends who are metal heads and so i get exposed to a lot of Nickelback - and i don't hate them. i even like a song or two of theirs. i don't understand why all the hate.

though i will say that i have the same problem w/ them that i have w/ Taylor Swift, and that's that listening to a 14 song CD tends to feel more like listening to a 40 min song. but that's my ONLY real objection.
