Do you keep your diary open/closed?

I try and stay away from Carbs myself because they are somewhat addictive for me. To address your question: Everybody has an opinion. You can just think whatever and ignore the feedback you do not like. If it does bother you, by all means, close your diary.0

Mine's open, if someone wants to learn from me or try to critique, so be it.0
-
closed......peeps are too quick to judge!!0

Closed. I have enough experience to know how to eat properly (not that I always do) and it's clear there are many misinformed individuals on this site. I am not going to waste my time on their ignorant criticisms. When I track calories I do it solely for my own benefit.
Now if someone asks for a healthy 150 calorie snack, I'm happy to post a suggestion.0 -

I feel the same way...plus, I want to show the people on my friends list that you can EAT to lose weight and reach goals. A lot of people, especially females, think less food is the key and I like to prove that yes, I not only practice what I preach, but it works!!0 -

open.
if anyone on my f list closes theirs, i remove them.
i love peeking too much.
if they don't like how i eat, screw em.0 -
For awhile I had it closed but now it's open. I think to everyone not just my friends. I had it closed until I started to get the hang of counting calories and found what worked for me. I also waited until I got more confident in my choices and stayed closer to my goal. Once I reached that point, I opened it.0

Open to keep me accountable0

I stopped logging a long time ago, but I closed it prior to that. I don't critique other people's food choices and I don't need anyone critiquing mine.0
-
Open to my MFP friends only.0
-
Open to my friends:)0

^^^This. Focused on my own wellness; if someone learns from me, great; if someone critiques and it's useful, that's great too; if someone's got an axe to grind, rest assured I'm ignoring it.0 -
Wide open, I have some pretty great will power but the extra accountability has been a big help :-)0
-
Closed, it wouldn't tell anyone much anyway as I really only just stick the calories in to keep a note of them for my own benefit. There's no breakdown of meals and things.0
-
Open to keep me accountable
yup this is what I do and I also don't mind friendly advice0 -
Closed; I'm doing it my way, watching my goals and learning from my mistakes.0
-
Open. I like getting feedback, even if it isn't what I want to hear.0

Ditto all of the above, besides, if I am going to go to the trouble of recording it I want it seen so I am accountable! I am at a point in my life where criticism is no big deal. If it is given in concern then I appreciate that someone cares and if it is given in meanspiritedness, then they have their own issues to deal with. I am definitely my own worst critic so I am not easily hurt by harsh words.0 -
open!! i need constant affirmation and attention or i get bored and mess up. sorry just being honest.0

Profile Diary everything is open to anyone who wants to look If anyone sees something they feel can help I welcome it. If someone learns from me I am thrilled to have been helpful. If anyone wants to just pick on me I am secure enough in my progress and lifestyle to take it with a grain of salt ( I will log that grain of salt of course)
To date I have had 1 person comment so I have to guess despite what we think not to many people are interested in an older not ripped fully dressed guy OH Well
I also will rarely respond to a post that someone who has a closed profile puts up if they dont want anyone to see what they are about I cant get a feel who they are to respond to0 -
open, because i want people to see you can eat and still lose weight!0

you are only friends with 4 people that's why!!!0 -
I keep mine open, if people want to be critical fug em0
-
Open. I've lost 57 lbs, so no ones been overly critical about it either.0

My diary is friends only, because I assume my friends are the only ones who would be interested in looking at it. I don't imagine random people in the forums would have any interest in clicking on it. And besides, it's kind of out of context without access to my activity feed, where I talk about my food and exercise and general thoughts and goals.
Or do people like to click on random diaries of forum posters? I don't really know what the norms are here. I only click on friends' diaries, when it shows on my feed that they've logged their meals for the day.0 -
Mine is an open book. I'm pretty small so people don't think I eat when in fact I eat more than all of my MFP friends including the guys. I want my friends to know it's okay to eat and still be fit.0
-
Mine is open, peak away :-) I have finally just managed to go a whole week being under my goal of 1400 cals NET. I didn't always eat clean to do it, but I got there and I lost 1.2 kg in the week :-)0
-
Mine is open and most of my friends have open Diaries too. If it is closed I ask them what the point is. We need to see what u have eaten that day so yes we can judge you. That's how we give each other support. I also like to see what healthy foods I can incorporate into my diet. Who's eating what and how healthy it is..........I've noticed a lot of ppl eat McDonlads and that is totally bad but if it fits in their calorie goal then it is all good......0
-
Mine is open to friends and open to critique and advice. I love looking at others to see how they eat.0
