OK so this is just for fun and interest.....please don't have a go at anyone for their choices!

What won't you pay for that others do?

My two are...

Manicure/pedicure.......My mum taught me many years ago how to do my nails and I won't pay someone else to do them. People often comment on how good they look......bright red this week.

Hair colouring....I started diong it myself as a teenager and still do.....it's quite easy and a fraction of the cost.

What I pay for that others won't?

Someone else to clean my house.....with a full-time, demanding job and a busy life, I'd rather be using what little time I have doing things I enjoy.

    I won't pay for:

    ~Animals from a breeder or pet store. There are too many in shelters that need homes.
    ~Expensive wine. The only $$$$ wine I have ever had was nasty. I tend to prefer wines in the $8 - $15 a bottle range.

    I will pay for:
    ~the best commercial food on the market for my ferrets
    ~really nice hotels when I go on vacation because to me the hotel is half the fun

    I won't pay for people to cook my meals for me. I very rarely buy prepared foods. I also won't pay for haircuts, mani/pedi, mending clothes, or taxis.

    And then I turn around and spend the money I saved on virtual items in online games! :3

    Love the fact that you would never pay a breeder or a pet store! That is one of mine too. And pretty much any house renovation. We have done most of our house all by ourselves and I just can't imagine paying someone double what we can do ourselves. It takes a lot longer becuase we both have demanding full time jobs, but that is ok. :)

    I will not pay anyone to do basic repairs to my vehicles.
    A basic repair is anything not involving tearing into an automatic transmission or putting in a new AC unit.
    For that matter, with the exception of roof repair and AC repair, I won't pay anyone for repairs to my house.
    I would rather do it myself.

    I won't pay for someone to change my oil, or minor repairs/maintenance to my car. I know too many mechanics and if all else fails, I 'could' just do it myself.

    I won't pay for a mani/pedi (I do my own) but I will pay for a color. I'm a box redhead and having it done professionally makes the red stay truer longer.

    But I won't pay for landscaping, yard service, house cleaning, painting, carpet cleaning or dog walking or grooming - this last one is evil, but my dog's food is expensive.

    I know how to change my own oil, but it's a hassle and sometimes more expensive than having it done.

    I will pay for:
    oil changes, expensive dog food for my pooch, HVAC services, and any extreme work to my house (roofing, fencing).

    I wont pay for animals from a breeder. I did by mistake once, I felt so awful. Never again

    I wont pay for expensive wine or champagne.

    I usually don't pay someone else for manicures/pedicures (I'm so lucky....my boyfriend scrubs my feet for me).

    Massages...my mom is a massage therapist.

    I've colored my hair by myself since high school. I've had it done, but always on someone else's dime.

    Things I do pay for: alcohol, brand name on certain things (like detergent), and I pay extra for things Febreze scented. It's a nasty habit.

    Yah, I'd never pay for sex.

    Manicures... but pedicures I will get on special occasions... or when they are gifted to me!!!

    I will always pay for a professional massage. It's worth every penny!!!

    Personal Trainer (I can educate myself through books/internet/friends/etc)
    Most home repairs
    Expensive shoes (there are too many cheap, cute pairs and the styles change too often)


    I will pay for:

    Drywall (because I will never be able to do that like a professional!)
    Pedicures (because it feels so darn good!)
