where abouts are you? there's a craptonne of online honda forums & groups... only real clubs I've been able to find are in the US or canada.

haha lets just say that I need to be more wary of oil slicks & loose gravel when I'm throwing my car around corners!

yeah those sneak up on you. I put a 90' subaru legacy into a spin at 60 on some black ice once I was 17

I'm In Kalamazoo, MI, I guess I gotta keep looking

OOOHHH I've always wanted to drive on ice!! please dont judge me, but my ex was canadian and used to tell me about taking his lincoln out on the ice... ever since then I've wanted to. stupid australia and its no ice climate! hell I'd be happy to just see ice... or snow for the matter hahaha

check out club eg6 if you havent already? I know they are pretty big :) also jdm forums might be able to link you to something in your area.

    I'll check it out.

and Ice is a bummer, snow is the fun part. Find a snowed in parking lot and to as many spins and pirouettes as you want, or find a corner and see how sideways you can get! I'd always slide my subie sideways into my driveway after school

and and nice, you come from the land down under huh? can I call you bruce? JK

ultimately I'd like to import my car from the states/canada so it seems reasonable I go over there first and havea little test drive... maybe I'll do it in winter.

Lol hooning in school, that'd never happen here ahahaha you dont even get your license until your graduated in most cases.

yeah you can call me Bruce if you like... I dont quite get the connection though lol.
Oh and I forgot to mention I have a unicycle I used to get around the house in :) but my tyre is flat now :(
I bet you can replace the inner tube easily on that little cycle
Bruce was a Monty Python joke generalizing Aussies lol

and really? is it hard to get licensed there? thats odd I would think it would be laid back there. But yeah we try to **** around as much as possible in the winter with our cars. I remember going 85 in a 55 behind somebody going 120MPH

Ohhh yeah I havent seen monty python in years!! yeah I'll get around to fixing it... the novelty was starting to wear off anyway. I'm thinking I need some roller skates for the house now :) then I can be like those cool kids in milkshake bars and just skate around the place :3
its not too hard when you turn 16 you can go for your L plates, which you gte by passing a written test.... then you get some lessons and sit a practical test, if you pass that then over a course of 6 months you have to log 25 hours driving (driving must be signed off and supervised by a person who has had their open license for 5 years +) then once you've logged your hours you can sit a hazards perception test and if you pass that then your one your P plates... for the first 6 months your on red P plates which means you have a 12am-5am curfew if you get done driving during the curfew you get a 6 month suspension and a fine... then for another 1.5 years your on green P plates which means you can drive whenever.

they keep changing the laws though and its different in almost ever state... some states have power restrictions, they are trying to introduce a law in my state when you cant have drunk passengers or more than one passenger under the age of 25 (during your P plate phase)

wow...thats a whole bunch or rules. My head is spinning. Here you have take "driver ed" then drive with a parent from 15 1/2 to 16...then take 1 road test and you have a licence to drive alone. You "can't" drive after midnight but there is no visual indication saying you are underage. At 17 you have full privileges

see i think the system there is way better.. river ed is done at school right? its good that you can be on the roads when your 17 but cant legally drink till 21 (I'm pretty sure that right eh?) it means you have more experience before you are able to have a few then drive. yeah if you dont have your "plates up" you get a fine here... its think its about $200-$250 AU do you guys also have a demerit points system there?

its sooo easy to get suspended/lose your lisence over here.

hoon laws a crazy too! permenant loss of license (i tihnk they only did that once before they changed the law) ummm car impouding, car crushing. any mods you have you need permits for. Hell I've nearly been done for hooning cause I thrashed it down a friends street and the cops could hear me...

and Ice is a bummer, snow is the fun part.

Hell I've nearly been done for hooning cause I thrashed it down a friends street and the cops could hear me...

oh wow close call. Luck you got away Scott free how did you do it?

yeah we do it at school. my american Football coach was my drives ed teacher actually. We do have a points system here, but if you get in rouble before your full licence you have to wait till you are 18 or something

Just played innocent... they didn't see anything, they have no proof... I told them my friend watch me drive off.. plus I'm a girl... and that gets me a long way with getting out of trouble.
American football is with all the shoulder padding yeah? it looks fun.
licenses over there sound so much easier... Australia is not as laid back as we seem to be.

ha ha with cops the girl card works every time!

yep I played the one with pads. it's great fun. watch a game some time. it's a little complicated though

and yeah I'm glad Im a gearhead and happen to live here. Don't have to jump through hoops to drive

I guess its not so bad when its the only system you grow up with. Lol I remember when I got pulled over once my car for ready for a yellow sticker and I just cried a little and said i had no idea my exhaust was too big for my car. I got let off with a warning :)

Isn't it a bit like rugby? I can never tell the difference between that an grid iron... lacross has got big stick scooper things I know that much :P Oh and there's a womens football/grid iron team and they play it in underwear! i've seen that too... I think its the only american sport I watch :P

My hubbie runs his own car business, so I haven't had my very own car for years and years. Plus points of this are they are always nice and clean, down side is there's never any flippin petrol in any of them, I can't put any music, sunglasses, bags..etc in them because I'll forget to take them out and then they get delivered to a customer (lucky them lol).

But, another big plus point is that some of the cars are really nice
    http://images.compucars.co.uk/107552/120x90/ferrari-328-convertible-petrol_6089269.jpg

Got to have a little go in this and everyone you drive past turns to look as so incredibly loud! And of course they are trying to see who the gorgeous blonde is at the wheel lol!!!

    But currently driving this

It'll do me and the kids for flying around without it costing a flipping fortune.

Enjoyed this thread as love cars, looking forward to seeing more posts...
