It's annoying, yes. However, it's almost as annoying that you omitted a very important comma in the thread title.

Sadly...yes, corinnebrown...i'm a bit of a spelling policewoman. I don't like the word 'nazi' as we never know if we have any people from Germany here!

Yes, I'm THAT politically correct.........most of the time.

ETA: Apparently I can't spell "Germany" when I'm buzzed. Hahahaha.

How about we focus on the real problems in life instead of spelling errors on a forum topic. Sigh.

Of course the beauty of these spelling mistakes is that it demonstrates the flexibility and plasticity of our brains to derive contextual meaning even when words are misspelled, the wrong word is used or even "whn whle lttrs ar nt incldd, a shrt frm of wrtng srt of":) More power to the brain, Hurrah.

I can't find the 'clapping' emoticon, but this is what I intend on from this reply! Outstanding!

Nope. Why waste your time on something so petty when there are more important things to worry about.

I'm not worried about other people spelling things incorrectly..it just gets on my nerves. So sorry, that there are other things in this life to worry more about. Did you all want me to start the eat back your exercise calories thread again? That's where people can get really mean.

I did omit the comma in my title. Total FAIL. :D

I'm with you on this one, Corinne...is it the biggest thing in the world to worry about? Nope...but you weren't implying that it was, either...just an annoyance...totally agree

Let me guess: YOU are one of those people guilty of "loosing" weight, am I right?

i think one of the reasons this happens is because people who were in grade school from the mid 80s were taught to read and write phonetically. so the lose o sounds like a u, they were taught the double o sounds like u, so they use loose instead of lose. i don't think its nice to make fun of people who had crummy schooling.

I think, when you belittle people, it shows a type of ignorance that is less tolerable then misspelling . If it is your employee or even child, then by all means, correct them . Most people will have far more respect for someone who smiles and moves past mispelled words, then someone who stops, points and makes them feel bad. There are a lot of people on this site. I assure you that they were not attracted here because they could learn to spell lose the the right way. As they " loose" weight, people will comment on their weight loss, not spelling ability. That should be our main focus on this site as well.

And the moral of the story is, don't correct anyone, let them live their lives in an ignorant wonderland for if you correct them so they learn something new and improve as a person you are, in fact, a huge ****. Got it! thanks!

Whoa! Did I just jump into the wrong forum category?? I thought this was "Chit-chat, Fun, and Games." Oh, yeah, I just looked--it is "Chit-chat, fun, and games!" Can we all just get along here?? Let's have some fun with it. It's too late for that cuz I prolly just killed this thread. I am the serial thread killer!
