Should I have more food in my belly when I have my morning tea? As in, more than just cereal?
About 30 mins into my tea I feel really sick.... I never actually get sick but obviously I stop drinking the tea, so maybe I would get sick if I continued drinking?

    Anyone else???

YES! I thought I was the only one also! I can drink it during the day or evening with no problems, but in the mornings (food or not) it makes me very nauseous. I don't know why, but I do avoid it and all teas in the mornings because of it.

It could be that you may be brewing/steeping it too long. I can take my black tea pretty damn strong, but if I pass that limit, and don't have enough food in my stomach. Feel totally amazingly horrid.

Try cutting back maybe by a minute or so and see if it improves for you.

I didn't think I could drink green tea either. Lipton green tea makes me feel ill. Twinnings is great though. Might just be the type of green tea you are drinking.

YES! I have tried and tried, for it's health benefits. I have started adding a couple of bags of green tea to my ice tea ratio. Its about the only way I can handle it.

Same here. I use the Stash Organic Decaf. I drink it all day long (iced) and don't have any problems. I too love the stuff so much I have it on auto ship from Amazon so I never run out. :-)

Green tea ALWAYS makes me nauseous on an empty stomach! And I have been drinking it for years. I have actually thrown up! Even if it's later in the afternoon and I drink it on an empty stomach it makes me very nauseous. I have just try to adjust. Even sometimes I think my stomach is full enough and it still makes me sick. But, I like you, I keep drinking bc of the benefits.

Does anyone know why this happens? I feel SO sick when I drink it. I get nauseous and feel like I am going to pass out.

I too usually feel nausous after drinking green tea. This morning I was feeling unusually hungry before I had a cup of green tea (Lipton bag), and actually got the heaves after drinking the tea. I had to quickly eat some toast, and then the sickness passed.

Yes. If it is brewed for too long or before eating.

I love green tea, but on an empty stomach it make me feel so nauseous. No problem if I drink it after a full meal though.

    What an odd zombie thread.

Green tea makes me nauseous because it's gross.

Here is some information behind it for some:

very helpful for me, but may not work for all. Worth a shot if you really want that tea!
