I am going to try to join you in the morning workout idea. I am not a morning person so this will be a challange for me, but with the change in hubby's schedule it might be a good thing

Exercise in the morning is a must do for me. If I don't get up and just do it, I never do. I have tried to wait until my son takes a nap and it just seems so much more difficult. Pretty soon you may find that you wonder how you ever did it any different.

Take care of yourself though--slow and steady wins the race when you are recovering. Especially from a car accident. It makes everything sore! Good luck!!:flowerforyou:

Very motivational debnu1!! I always try my best to plan out my meals and snacks. It gives me a plan to follow that requires no thought during the day - and no guilt later on. Great job using your body's natural wake up time as time for an early workout. Gotta find ways to fit in the workout.

smadag1 - I'm glad to hear that you are ok. I hope the soreness goes away soon - maybe try some streches. Either way, take it easy.

shutterbug4674 - I hear ya! I am restocking on fruits and veggies tomorrow. I'm so glad technology has allowed for the shipment of produce during all the winter months!

Keep moving blues... one foot infront of the other.

Here's a challenge to all that will - starting today - exercise minimum of 20m at least 5 of the 7 days in this week....here's my schedule...(this is in between hospital trips (cousin not doing well), kids practice schedules, cooking, cleaning, laundry, Christmas decorations - all the typical excuses)

    Monday-Strength (maybe add step too)
    Tuesday - 3 mile run
    Wednesday - 5 mile run
    Thursday - Strength
    Friday - Elliptical 30 minutes
    Saturday - 8 mile run
    Sunday REST!

Post your plan for the week even if it's a 20 minute walk - at least you're moving. Let's go Blues - we can all succeed!

Monday, Wednesday, Friday --50 min treadmill intervals
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday--30min strength and 20 min other cardio. I have not decided what I will do for the other cardio, maybe I will try some more exercise videos--step, you name it.

Sunday is always my rest day.

    Hi all,

Debnu- I also find that the best time for me to workout is in the morning. I get up at 5:00am head to the gym. I find that putting off exercising for later in the day makes me dread it, and I literally have to push myself to workout. When I do it in the morning, it's out of the way, like I dont' even remember, but Yes, I did it.

Like this morning, I overslept and didn't wake up on time. The only trick to getting up early is making sure to go to bed early so that you can actually get up early. So today, when my 16 month old napped, I worked out intensely. I'm not playing around in december either. I'm on break almost from grad. school, and have no excuse. I did 95 minutes of Jillian michaels 30 day shred, and P90x ab workout. Jillian Kicked my butt!!!!

So, to join all of you guys and commit to exercising this week, this is my workout schedule:

Monday- 95 min. (jillian michael's 30 day shred and p90x ab ripper)
Tuesday- 60 min cardio, 60 min strength
Wednesday- 60 min cardio, 60 min strength
Thursday- 60 min cardio, 60 min strength
Friday- 60 min cardio, 60 min strength
    Saturday- My day off exercise

    Here's to us, beautiful blues!!!!!!

Did my strength class and as much as I really didn't want to, I did step too....today is a 3 mile run day

Have to share this....if you like oatmeal....I made oatmeal with 3/4 of the 1/2 cup called for a serving, 1/4 cup Bear Naked Banana Nut Cereal, 1/2 c skim milk, 1/2 c water, little brown sugar - it's so good! If you've not tried the cereal - it's REALLY good couldn't believe how tasty it is so I put it in the oatmeal (I like warm breakfasts) Just thought I'd share - I got a free sample of the cereal on their website....it's about $4 a bag but I really think it's worth it - my daughter likes it too and she's a frosted flakes kind of girl. Putting in the oatmeal has made one tasty Breakfast!

Got a call at 5:30 this morning - snow on the ground, more snow all day, and NO SCHOOL! Woo hoo! Sewing room, here I come!

And since I have plenty of time, I am going to fix my favorite cream of wheat with peanut butter for breakfast. Maybe it will help warm me up - I have been cold for two days. Happy Tuesday!

Mornin' Blues. :flowerforyou: Ready for the BL finale tonight??? I'm sad to see it go, but can't wait to see how they all look and hear their stories! They're all winners, imo.

This week at work isn't going to be crazy busy ... but I do have a big project I'm working on. I'm binding our annual financial reports and this is monotonous work, lol. Yesterday I punched holes in all the papers, covers and tabs. It was really repetitive and made my neck hurt. Today I'm binding what I can and tomorrow is delivery day, so they'll be out of my hands.

For the past three months or so, I've been working on our new website. It launched yesterday and as happy as I am to see it go live, I'm also kind of sad because I really, really, really enjoyed putting it all together.

But, anywho, I will be headed up to our fitness room in a while to do my first workout of the day! Woohoo!!

smadag1 - good luck at the doctor's! And hope you get your back cracked. That DOES feel soooooo good!

msg0530 - snow!! yay!!!! Have a good day off. :flowerforyou:

chrissy - that sounds delicious!!!! I love oatmeal. I've never tried the Bear Naked cereal, but I've seen it in the grocery store plenty of times.

debnu1 - congrats for being under your calorie allotment!

    Good morning beautiful blues,

I just got back from the gym and did my morning routine. I'm feeling pretty good about it. I have entered all of my meals for today so that I can see what the numbers total out to. It's sometimes easy to do this, whenever I'm not too sure about calories.

Here's to having a great day all!

OK, I didn't feel like dealing with this yesterday after the funeral, but I thought about it and I am in today. We'll see if I can make 5 days this week. Being snowed in today, my choices were limited so I cruised the web for something to motivate me. You probably all know about this already, but I found free workout videos on http://exercisetv.tv/
I did the "Less Is More Cardio Workout". It is 30 minutes. I cannot do everything on there due to arthritis and of course, my constant companion, lots of extra pounds, but I did do a modified version and made the 30 minutes.

    My plans:
Wednesday: If the weather clears enough for the school field trip to Wichita, then I will get a workout walking and keeping up with teenagers. If not, another exercise video.
Thursday: Walk with my dog if the weather cooperates, exercise video if not.
    Friday: Same as Thursday.
Saturday: Walk downtown with my grandsons for the Christmas parade.
Sunday: Strength Training: Carrying tables and heavy cases of bells after the bell choir performs at church. (Ha, ha!) And if the weather is okay, walk the dog.

OK, I followed your advice, Chrissy, and made a plan. I've not posted my exercise plan before, so we'll see if it holds me accountable. Be sure to ask me how it's going, and maybe peer pressure will keep me at it.

Sign I saw on a health club this week: Follow the three E's: Eat healthy, Exercise, and Enjoy Life!!

I think we have 5" so far, and it's still snowing heavily. Good luck to all this week, and here's to smart choices!

We have had six inches of snow and it is still coming. I was hoping for a snow day. I love it when I don't have to go anywhere and it is snowing. Of course I still had to take my daughter to school. The schools rarely close around here, only if it is about 3 feet on the ground still coming and there is no way the buses can get anywhere. Oh well. I slept in until quarter to six this morning, it was kinda nice, I still got in my 50 min of strength and other cardio. I actually just moved around on and off my step did jumping jacks that sort of thing while watching the news. Day 2 down. Now to continue to eat healthy!! :flowerforyou:
