I'm a grocery store slut. I shop at Wegmans, Price Chopper and Shur Save (not as frequently, but they're closest to home and have a liquor store attached), with some stuff from Target and occasionally from Ollie's Bargain Outlet, which is kind of like Big Lots.

Mostly Price Chopper and Wegmans, depending on what I need and what's on sale.

I like the term grocery store slut!

Woodmans. They are big carry almost every brand and the cheapest in town. In the summer I buy almost all my produce from the farmers market, and occasionally I buy stuff from Aldis or Walmart.

Wow, does anyone in the US grocery shop online?
I've started to do it here in the uk and find it so much easier.
E come up with a meal plan, and just add all he stuff we need.
I find it alot easier to resist extra stuff, so it works out cheaper, i dont need to put up with ppl randomly stopping in front of what i need to get, no queues, and best of all i dont need to lug everything from the car.

I think there are a few major cities that have that... But I don't think that's the case for my area...

When I lived in Michiana (SW Michigan, Northern IN) there were a few online grocery stores but I never really understood the allure. I like being able to browse and touch. I don't trust other people to pick out my produce (I'm sooo picky when it comes to produce)

Plus, I actually like the whole grocery store experience and finding the extra stuff that I didn't know that I needed (like my world food aisle purchases last night)

Mine is Harris Teeter. We have 5 in town that I can think of but I always go to a particular one and love the crap out of that store. I do go to WM (sigh) if I need things like razors, paper towels, toilet paper, dog food.....................but I go super early in the morning and run in/out because I loathe that place.

I go very VERY late at night... it's ridiculous in there during the day!

I have a 24 hour Kroger 5 minutes from me that I go to most of the time and I have a Meijer that I drive by on my way home from work that is only about 7 miles away.
  • I like Kroger Marketplace, more options, which means more chance of finding a deal or having a coupon!!

My grocery store home is Hyvee. I love it.

Never heard of it but I'm glad you found one you love!

It's not a national chain. I think it's only in Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa. It's employee-owned.

ETA: I have never heard of most of the stores mentioned here, just Walmart, Target and Safeway. We used to have Safeway, but it turned into IGA, then just disappeared.

Freshco - most things. Usually go once a week.
Kensington Market (in Toronto) - there is this awesome little fruit corner that I go to for 90% of my fruit and most of my veggies too. I love it!!! Prices are the same or cheaper than discount stores (Freshco, Price Chopper, No Frills, Food Basics, etc.) BUT they TASTE soooo much better.
    Loblaws - fake meat products
Carrot Common (in Toronto) - a store that has tons of vegetarian and vegan stuff, I don't go there as much anymore since it's over an hour on the subway to get there, but great stuff!
