She looks like an "Oreo" or "Cuddles"....or if you want to get sarcastic you can name her "Bruiser". Best of luck coming up with a name, can't wait to hear what the verdict is!

Talulua! I always loved that name for small dogs!

Be careful when she gets older with nipping - try not to let her do it at all, no matter how cute it might seem. Pups often don't learn bite inhibition when they are separated so young - they learn it from their mum and littermates. This isn't necessarily vicious biting, just play biting and mouthing, but as they get stronger it can hurt like hell!

If you're interested in seeing an extreme case, try looking up a video on Diesel the husky who was on It's Me or the Dog. He mouths and bites constantly because he was separated from his litter at 4 or 5 weeks old. I know she won't grow anywhere near his size, but she could still pack a good nip!

(I do dog behaviour/training in case you're wondering where this random bit of advice came from)

Thanks! I've actually been working on this after research I found about raising pups who have been abandoned. We definitely don't want a chihuahua with a mean bite! :)

We have decided to go with Roxy...thanks to all of you for your input! Great names...all of them! (except "lunch" lol) the Hubby is so picky that Roxy took him this long to finally agree to it! The others were all "no, no, no...heck no, no" haha...imagine when we have kids!?!

    1. DEE-OOOH-GEEE (say it all together DEOHGE) Spells Dog!
2 Tuft (smaller than a patch)
    3. Thor
    4. GeeGee (or GiGi)
    5. Wynn (as in Win)
    6. Bolt
    7. Phoenix (rise from the ashes)

One of my neighbors has a little dog named Deeohgee. The other two dogs (Galileo and Ginger) like me; Deeohgee thinks his whole job is to protect his owner. Little dog with a big spirit.

Thor sounds like a good name; so does Oreo.
  • Cutest puppy!!!!! :) Aww!!!!! I love puppies! I'm actually a dog trainer, so I get to play with puppies all day. :) I absolutely love it. She is SOO cute!!!!!!!

  • Welcome Roxy! I am really glad that she found a great family!
If you need any help with her just ask. I am not a certified dog behaviorist (this is one of my dreams) but I trained every single human of my fury friends :).
