To be fit, strong, and awesome. I also want to look hot. I don't necessarily want to lose weight... I do want to lose some of this fat, though.
  • I want to be fit. Thin for me is not good. I have heavily muscled legs and I'm pretty sure it's all muscle! I try to float in a pool and only my upper body floats! my legs are heavy. lol!!! I want my waist to be smaller, like 2 - 3 inches smaller ... the rest of me I like! lol!!! I know I still have fat around me belly but because I want to have more children, I'm not pushing to be too low in body fat. I'm good where I am, but I know I can do more... :)

my waist now is 29 inches. I've been 26 before children, but, it would be nice... sigh... lol!!!

I want to be fit! I am currently not losing pounds just getting fitter and gaining strength. I do not want to be a 'Fat Thin' person (yes they do exist).

How about getting sexy? Basically I have never been at a healthy weight since puberty. So I want to discover the woman I was meant to be. :)

    ^^^ this^^^

I keep asking myself when do I start to feel sexy... :grumble:

I'm starting to feel sexy but I still got a while to go yet.

I am tired of being the largest person among my friends and coworkers. But most of all I am tired of being tired carrying all this extra weight around. It is not healthy. I had more energy, felt better about myself and my knees did not hurt when I weighed less. I want that again!

For me its about quality of life, When you wake up one day and are too fat to put socks on your feet, and too disabled with Arthritis to put pants on without leaning against a wall and using a grabber extension, There is no quality to the days you have left. When that is the case theres not much point in hanging around. So recognizing I had the knowledge, skills, ability and determination to have quality of life in every day, I got back on the trail. To put it simply, at my age I no longer really care how many days are left but I do care that each one is a good one, and that I have lived to my potential.

    No idea I guess both....

I mean recently as I am half the size, almost literally.... I also destroyed my previous TT record up the mountain while cycling... So to me thinner = lighter = more power output = better = winner.... So I can be a winner by being thinner :D

I'll be fit as hell too, but weight does mean something when competing :D

The weight on the scale means absolutely nothing to me as long as I'm fit and happy with what I see reflected in the mirror. My goal is related to bodyfat percentage, not a number on the scale. Slim with low bodyfat looks better than skinny with high bodyfat. We don't walk around in public with a scale number floating over our head, we walk around with the body we've shaped - nobody sees the scale number, you either look fit or you don't.

My thoughts exactly, very well said!

To get fit! I'm not out to look like Angelina Jolie. The point for me was to get healthy. It's not to *look* a certain way but to *be* a certain way.

    This.

I have a ton of weight to lose but I'm not doing it to be skinny or look good. I'm doing it because I want to be healthy and in shape! I want to not be limited by my size. Nothing limits your life like being fat and unhealthy... trust me.

I wanted to get healthier so I could better control diabetes and I kept going. I'm so happy I did
  • I have came up with a way to live healthy, weird schedules, and on a really small budget. I'm doing it because my bday is coming up soon, not feeling happy with myself, back to communicating with a long distance friend.
I'm starting with getting fit then work on the abs under the body fat.

Totally to skinny......now that I am there.....I want to be fit. I can wear a size 4 but if I took a picture of my stomach someone would be amazed that I could fit into a size 4.

I am on maintenance now and plan on staying right where I am at until after the holidays to see if I can just maintain and then if I can do that then I will make my goal for next year to have the killer fit body.

I have to admit that my motivation is to get thin. I used to be so skinny and so small before I had to have my thyroid removed, all I want is to have that back. Now, someone is probably going to jump at my throat for this, but I really don't care that much about fitness. To my mind, the fitness is something that comes as a nice side effect to all the physical exercise I'm doing in order to move the number down, not something I'd ever deliberately set off to achieve.

I do care about being healthy, but to me it's secondary to being smaller. Not necessarily thin. Thin isn't something I've ever aspired to be.

I want to be thin, fit and sexy. I want to look 1 000 000 $ in bikini and I want to be able to do the crazy yoga poses and run as much as I want. So yes, this is not a matter of "either or" but rather the case of "I want it all!"

Healthy, I'm about 50-70 lbs over weight and to not look at pics and think, "look how fat I am!"

I started out wanting to be thin, because I have been both heavy (most of my life) and thin. I felt better thin emotionally but I was also treated better, less name calling because thin is in.:grumble: After many years of dieting and weight up and down, I have chosen to strive for fit, because I will end up thin in the process and I will be healthy and happy. Some forget that its about being fit and happy, not thin and making everyone else happy, that is where I became lost.

I had both knees replaced this past winter, and I want to keep them as long as possible so I don't have to go through the surgeries again! Less weight means less wear and tear on the joints.

And I'm tired of feeling like I'm always the biggest person in the room!
Pretty much me ( no surgeries -yet)
But sooo much pain every day.
Very frustrating, as i don't know if i should just be calorie counting and trying to lose weight, or if i should start building muscle and get fitter/stronger.
  • Get fit whilst getting thin and be an inspiration to the fatties in my family! =D

Both. I'd love to be fit but I want to be thin, too. It's sad, I know. I just want to fit into cute clothes and not have my belly hanging out when I sit down.
  • Fit! I love exercise and I'm trying to improve my endurance and strength right now. When I was younger I ate a ton of candy and hated sports and physical activity. I was missing out. I don't care if I lose pounds, as long as I lose inches and gain muscle.
