I don't like fruit... pretty much all kinds.
But each week I try to have at least 1-3 peices for variety and health benefits.
I really don't like bananas at all, but for variety and health I have been trying to have one at least a week.
What's your take on bananas??

Oh man, I couldn't live my life without bananas. Especially finger bananas, they amuse me so much.0

haha. Totally forgot I changed my profile pic to a monkey with a banana.0

i like bananas, and i just ate one0

Totally terrible and dangerous for the body.
Especially the fibers, pectin, potassium, iron, calcium and magnesium it contains.
Vitamine C, B1, B2, and B6 that bananas have is also something you would definitely watch.

Fruit is not essential in your diet, but a useful addition. I'd rather have veg which is far lower calories, full of nutrients and you can have more of to fill you up.0

Bananas are a great source of potassium.0

I don't like bananas much either, but if I slice it and put in in a bowl with yogurt and granola (and maybe some honey if I'm feeling saucy) it's pretty filling and a great way to stay full for hours.0

I really like fruit. If I was trying to feed fruit to a child that didnt like it, I would blend frozen fruit in the blender with a little milk and/or yogurt. It comes out like a milkshake and tastes soooooooooo good.0

I used to hate them, but i love them now. They are so good with peanut butter or in oatmeal or cereal0

I don't think you should have to force yourself to eat anything you don't like. If you REALLY don't like bananas, there are plenty of other foods you can eat. For example, if its potassium you're looking for, [sweet] potatoes, orange juice, and yogurt (among others) are also great sources. Enjoying your food is such a huge part of your diet maintenance. If you have to hold your nose and force it down, don't eat it.
For the record, I love bananas ;-)0 -

I love to eat them on the way home from the gym. quick easy snack. reasonable calories and cheap to buy(since I share my fruit with three children. lol)0

I hate bananas too. There's just something about them. So you're not alone!! And I'm glad to know I'm not either.
I do still try and eat them, because I know they're good for you, but it's a lot of calories for something you detest! I'd rather eat an entire punnet of strawberries which works out less calories.0 -
Bananas are actually the funnest fruit. They are actually really aerodynamic, too. This dates back millions of years when banana trees grew along the cliffs of the waterfalls of Pangea, which is now modern-day Central and South America. They fly just like a boomerang, but you have to put a lot more force into throwing them. Bananas have a lot of potassium. And they taste great.

Don't force your self to eat something if you don't like it. Trying to eat something with with justification that you are doing it just because it is good for you is silly.
Banana's are not an essential item to your diet and there is plenty of other foods to try that are good for you too. Cantaloupe, Spinach, Avacado, Squash, Tuna and OJ all has more potassium than bananas.0 -
love em! i actually crave them sometimes...(prob the sugar?). i usually only eat about 1/2.0
-
Love them in something else - on ice cream (chocolate especially), in yoghurt with muesli and nuts, in smoothies.
You can also cook them with onions, sugar, and curry/spices for a really nice garnish with a Middle Eastern or North African dish. Go for ones that aren't that ripe if you go that route.0 -
I will never understand why people force themselves to eat something they can't stand when there's like a billion other food choices out there. Don't eat them - they aren't magic. I personally love them, but they've done nothing amazing for me.0

My take on bananas are that they are awesome, sugary, and carby!!0

Bananas are great for fiber and potassium. They are a bit high in calories but they are "good" calories. I eat a few of them a week, usually for a snack between breakfast and lunch.0
-
I have a banana every day as one of my mid-morning snacks! Also like them in smoothies!0
