Recovery Heart Rate

I did cardio today and got in my target heart range ~146 beat per minute. After 1 minute of rest I had dropped to 115. After 2 minutes I dropped to 109.
Some websites say this is "excellent" and others say this is "average". Does anyone know how to interpret this?

The association between recovery heart rate and "fitness" is tenuous at best. It can also be affected by a number of factors--like changes in your workout, and totally unrelated things like room temperature, lack of sleep, etc.
Individual changes over time: e.g. for the same workout, your 1 min recovery heart rate drop goes from 20 beats/min to 30 beats/min--CAN reflect an increase in conditioning.
It's one of those things--like resting heart rate -- that people try to read significance into, but it is only a modest indicator, at best.0
