Great Job!!! That takes a lot of will power. At the grocery store yesterday near the milk area they were making sugar cookies for like free samples and Oh it smelled soooo good...didn't have one but wow the smell was great!!!

My 5k is this Saturday so I will be running Mon-Wed and being off Th and Fri...well except for a leisurely stroll anyway. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: I'm ready for WEEK 4
I'm getting close to my goal and don't want to let up
and just reaching my goal is not the end of the road
I'll be working out forever to stay fit and healthy
all of you younger members on this thread work out in a much more vigorous way, but my workouts are working for me.

Right now my dogs are begging me to take them to the dog park. that's where they run and play and I take a brisk walk for 20-40 minutes depending on the weather and enjoy watching them play.

Let's not let holiday parties, baking, and stress derail us from the journey to a healthy goal.

I'm glad to see at least one group still going strong after 4 weeks b/c the others that I post on have just about fizzled out. Keep up the good work ladies. My challenge to continue losing weight will be tougher come next week b/c boot camp ends this Friday and now I will be responsible for trying to figure out my own workouts/cardio/strength training and I'm a bit nervous about it. I've always done very well when I had a trainer or instructor who basically told me what to do and I just did it. The thought of trying to come up w/a workout that will burn some good calories and help me tone is a bit intimadating. My current boot camp instructor assigns exercise homework for the days we don't meet (except Sunday) so that pretty much guaranteed me having a great full body workout and cardio burn 6 days a week.

    Any suggestions would definitely help.

    Hey ladies!!
Today I started the Freeway to 10K program. Day 1 was a 5 min. warmup, then six sections of 4 min running, 2 min powerwalking, then a 3 min cooldown. The running sections are quite a bit faster than the 8K training, so it was more challenging than I anticipated. I also ran for three of the walking sections. After that I did about 15 minutes of hard weighted/inverted ab work. LOTS of stretching. I may sign up with a trainer for flexibility work alone (plus he's cute and I want to find out if he has a girlfriend...hehehehe  ).

I hope everyone has this thread bookmarked.
I did really good yesterday. Stayed between 1200 and 1300 calories, I think I was at 1250 about. The scales' at 100. Just Saturday it was 98.6....not sure how that works but, I'll stick to my 1200cal and be diligent today, hopefully tomorrow I see 99.x again. I really wanted to see it this morning, but.....oh well....stick to it-tive-vness is part of the fight!

Go team Go! Lets make this week rock!

    My Goals today:
Work out : Plyometrics DVD (55min)
    Noon/afternoon: Elliptical - 30min
    Eat clean. Eat 1200 calories
Take a walk outside today for 10-15min (its -8 degrees...have to bundle up to do this).

I'm with ya, sr88!! I want to work HARD this week. I already did 30 min of elliptical this morning before breakfast. After work I'm lifting and doing some more cardio. I'm going to a lab party tonight and NOT pigging out. I have a gym/dinner/dancing date this weekend and I plan to look good for it!

I know they smell awesome, I came home from the gym last night and my house still smells like cookies. Today I have to start decorating them, that is the really hard part. But I have to miss one day of boot camp this week due to visiting family for Christmas so I will be extra good on eating and working out. I CAN DO IT!!!!!

My boot camp ends next week and I have vowed to continue to go to the gym on the same days as boot camp, my kids have finally adjusted so might as well. My gym has some really good classes that I want to try, like a turbo kick boxing, that ought o burn it off :indifferent:
  • Finished 30 mins of cardio and 30 mins of dancing.
My goal tonight is to do 30 mins of cardio and 10 min of abs. and of course stay within my calories.

I ran for 31 minutes yesterday...did almost 3 miles. There is a park in front of my house and when I drove around it for the distance it was .2. don't know if it is .25 or what so I know the 3 miles is attainable. Today I'm running at the park and I know the trail there is 1.1 miles. Looking forward to it. My friend and I have said that tonite we will run the 3 laps to see how we do. Its totally doable...I know we can do it.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good challenge for this week? I'm starting to see my belly poke out a bit too much even though my weight is going down. So...I'm just looking for something to work towards for each week. Or maybe even a challenge for the last 10 days before Christmas! All suggestions welcome :)

MOTIVATION PLEASE!!! I have so much shopping to do for Christmas yet...and the stress is taking a toll on me!!! Work, shop, workout, dinner, bed...it's so exhausting...at least it is right now...just 3.5 more days to go and I have a 2 week break from the kiddos ;)

My roommate and I have a challenge that is going on til the end of the year...we have to do 3 sets of pushups and crunches every day...if we miss a day we have to pay $1 into a piggy bank that is shaped as a pig. So far so good.

Have a challenge like that with your husband...that way you are accountable to someone close to you.

Breezy, I vowed to continue working out as well. I just went to Target and purchased two of Jillian Michael's dvds (something about boost metabolism and trouble zones) to alternate between on days I should be at boot camp. I chose those two b/c their total time equals a boot camp session. I'm a bit nervous b/c I'm unsure what to expect but I plan on watching both before next week so I won't be totally surprised.

It's day 26 of my challenge (burn at least 500 calories a day for 30 days) and i'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I found a boredom buster treadmill incline interval routine online and decided to take on that challenge. What a challenge it was. At my highest incline I was at an 8.0 and jogging at a speed of 4.0. I've never been so happy to see a minute pass before in my life. Anyway, I did that routine for 45 minutes which equated to 3.52 miles jogged and 338 calories burned. In order to ensure I burned at least 500 calories I hopped on the elliptical for 25 minutes. I was able to burn 234 calories for a total of 572. I'M EXHAUSTED but I have to complete this work assignment so there's no rest in my immediate future.

    Have a great day ladies.

You girls are such good motivation.
Too much stress in the last month and I have had a really, really hard time getting to the gym regularly. I did nothing through last week and had no intention of doing anything Friday, but I read the posts on this thread and found myself at spin class (45 mins) followed by a 15 minute abs class. Thank you!

Off for a run in a short while, then spinning again tomorrow.

Despite all of this, I am miraculously down 1 pound!

    CW 115
    GW 110 (?)

Although the progress has been slow all the way through the good months and the not so good months, I look back at where I started and know I have become a smaller person. I weighed 124 when I got pregnant with twins almost 2.5 years ago and it feels great to know I now weigh less than I did BEFORE a pregnancy during which I gained a lot of weight.
I have achieved pre-pregnancy weight, now working on pre-pregnancy shape and saying bye-bye to the last of this muffin top.

Hope you are all having a fabulous week!!

Don't feel down and out! JUst keep going. Know that your husband would have been there if he could and he is probably thinking how much he misses you when you were having the pictures taken. It takes a very strong woman to have a husband in the military and have children. You are able to do it. You have been doing it. JUst keep up a positive attitude and your husband will be back before you know it. Good luck and know that there will be many more moments in which your husband will be there for.

I agree with Cherie, you are a strong woman. And I am sorry you are feeling so sad. :flowerforyou: I realize what you are sacrificing, thank you! ((hugs!)) And I am sure there is no where in this world your husband would rather be than by you side at this very moment!

I didn't eat a bunch of junk at the lab party!!!!! :D

I had one tablespoon of the eclair cake (YUM), three smoked wings, and the rest was olives and veggies dipped in salsa. YAY!! I worked out for 95 minutes today so I earned all that salsa LOL
  • so I'm currently eating cheesecake... n its 740am... im ashamed but thats how i study... the night before the test I stay up til like 4 or 5 in the morning with energy drinks n hot cheetos then i snooze for 3 or 4 hours then i wake myself up with sugar and study the rest of the day until my test, with a healthy lunch in there to balance everything out... but this is my last final n I havent done this routine for any of my other ones but i just felt underprepared for this one... im at least admitting this to stay accountable. after a good dinner tonight, a good nights rest i'll be back to working out n eating right tomorrow!

That's ok, finals are a b**ch we all know that. The fact that you know it's not good for you are holding your self accountable for the calories are good things. We can't cut this stuff out 100% of the time(most of us cant) and that tends to lead to falling back off the wagon!!!!! So good luck on your final and then back to the weight grind

I only made it though finals with the help of my espresso machine and salty snacks. I've been done with college for a few years but plan to go back again soon (this time I hope I won't eat like crap). At least it's only one week.

My quads are so sore every step sends sharp pains racing from my knees to my hip flexors, and stairs are actually frightening.
I think I will have to take today as a rest day. I'm really disappointed!!! I'm only allotted 1300 calories today so I'll be in a deficit anyway, but I HATE taking unscheduled breaks. I know I won't be able to run tonight though. Instead I'm cleaning my apartment and doing some Christmas shopping.
