Peanut butter in oatmeal?

How do you do it? Do you put it in while it is cooking, or add it after? I usually put 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon in while it is cooking, then add a mashed banana, but I want something different. So should I put cinnamon in while it is cooking, and then add PB after? Or what?
Holy smokes! A tablespoon of cinnamon, can you even taste anything else?0 -
I always put it in after it's cooked, never had a problem.
I also put raisins or apples in it.0 -
Or you can eat it like this:
Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Squares
1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 large mashed banana
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Mix together the quick cooking oats, light brown sugar, baking powder, kosher salt and ground cinnamon.
Add in the vanilla extract, milk and egg. Mix the ingredients together.
Then add in the mashed banana and peanut butter. Combine all of the ingredients.
Pour the mixture into a lightly greased 8 by 8 inch metal baking pan. Bake at 350 F degrees for 20 minutes.
Cut into squares and enjoy!0 -
I put it in afterwards, and then just stir it up.0

Yes! Peanut butter is oatmeal is so good. I eat this for breakfast at work at least 3 times a week.
Mix together:
1/3 - 1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 scoop protein powder (I use SunWarrior Vanilla - you may want more or less depending on the size of your scoop)
Add water to cover completely and let it sit for a minute or two then microwave for one minute. Stir in about a tablespoon of peanut butter, natural runny type pb seems to work best (I like Crazy Richards Crunchy)
Then I eat it with cut up strawberries and sometimes a few chocolate chips. Yum!0 -
I cook it, then I add the peanut butter. The oatmeal will still be hot from cooking and it will slowly melt, just stir it in.
I love almond butter too, sometimes I mix nut butters with cottage cheese, I like it anyways lol.
You can always add flax seed, fruit/berries, apple sauce, cinnamin, milk/yogurt, bitter sweet chocolate chips (well anything in moderation, just watch your serving...1 TBSP would be fine.) raisins, honey, brown sugar, sugar subsitutes, Dried cherries or cranberries, chopped nuts, protien powder.... endless variations.
I love oatmeal.
You can also cook it overnight in the fridge.

I made some oatmeal with almond milk this morning instead of regular, then stirred in a tablespoon of peanut butter after it finished cooking. It was delicious! The peanut butter did not melt completely, but I have no objections to finding random little spots of peanut butter in my oatmeal.
Now I'm thinking about adding a smidge of cocoa in with it...0 -
Wow! That sounds so good. I don't like cooked oatmeal for breakfast but that sounds like a cookie. Yum!!!!0

Where do you find Better Oats Dark Chocolate Oatmeal??? I live in Ohio, have never heard of it.0

I love PB. It's one of my favorite foods, if not my favorite. But, I almost hurled after putting it in my oatmeal. It is the nastiest, grossest thing I have ever tasted. DO NOT DO IT.0

I put in my pb right after it's cooked and it melts omg it's so yummy!0

How awesome that I am not the only one who adds PB to oatmeal. I do it after cooking it and swirl it through so that some bites have more pb than others in them.0
-
depends on your cooking method, but I add it in after the hot water settles, and then just mix it in the cooked oatmeal0

Yeah, it is SO GOOD! THe Cinnamon makes it gooey and sticky and it tastes like banana bread!0 -
I usually put PB with a banana, blueberries, and strawberries when i have my hot oat bran cereal. It tastes great!
Legit rest of the day after a meal like this. mmm.0 -
I eat PB and frozen berries in my oatmeal almost every day. I defrost the berries, then cook the oats, add a little spenda and the peanut butter...stir well then gently fold in the berries. Then I add a splash of milk. Sometimes I substitute low sugar jam for the fruit. Either way its yummy.0

yummy. bump0

I tried peanut butter in my porridge once and it was horrible0

I made this for breakfast just this morning and it was yummy! I stirred a Tbsp of PB into fully cooked oatmeal (steel cut) then added a tsp of jam and a bit of milk. Really good. Tomorrow I'll try it with some dried fruit and honey instead of the jam. it's been more filling than my usual granola and milk.0

I do this a lot. I take a spoonful and stir it in after it is done cooking.0

i cook my oatmeal, and then add a spoon of crunchy peanut butter heaven and a spoon of honey!! omg.. its soo good!0

I like stripes peanut butter and jelly mixed. I just add it when its done and mix it well. It took oatmeal from blah to yummy.0
-
I put in it before I cook it... that way it melts and the oats absorb some of it. They're so creamy and amazing... omg.. I might have some later. Thanks lol.
I used to put it in after, but it's just not the same. I usually add some cocoa powder and a tsp of brown sugar too.0
