Weigh ins are on Fridays. If you go back to the very first page of this thread I have an example of what we do...

Right now we just have had holiday challenges going in. With the new year coming up I'm sure that we will have some new ones coming up.

welcome kstephanski and Pam. I started in June and lost 34 lbs then fell off the wagon at the end of September after my Vegas trip. I've gained back 13 lbs. I've had some health issues the last couple of months so that didn't help my motivation. My name is Debbie and I am 51 yrs old. I have 4 grown children. My youngest just turned 18 Christmas day and is a senior this year. I have 1 grand daughter who is almost 10 yrs old. I've been heavy all my life but i hate it. I am single and would like to find someone but when my own self esteem is down it is hard to put yourself out there to find a man. I've been divorced 13 yrs and I am tired of not having someone to care about.

I have every intention of getting back on track after the 1st of the year. My son has surgery to repair a hernia on the 31st and after i am done worrying about him i can concentrate on me and losing weight. I will need lots of encouraement and kicks in the pants and I am hoping you all will help me with that. If I can encourage you in any way let me know, I'll be glad to help.

Welcome to all of the new members.

I for one am glad that life is returning to normal and the Holidays are almost over. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Monday. Yesterday, I tried the new Wii Fit Biggest Loser DVD and it was quite a workout. My glutes and quads are sore today.

Ok, so I just got my MFP thingy updated on the iphone. Very cool little thingy that I am looking forward to using more and more!

So, I fell off the wagon bad over Christmas. At wayyyy too much of the candy and cookies that I made. It was just too hard to resist. Anyways.. I logged my weight yesterday and it still says I lost 2lbs but Im pretty sure that was just because the last time I logged my weight it was close to that TOM.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new changes to the MFP board. Its alot like facebook in the way that you can see what your MFP buddies are up to and comment. Now THAT is awesome!

Deb and I both have been harassing people on facebook about coming back to MFP. I think after the new year alot of people will be back. Good ole New Years Resolutions tend to do that! I know for me, its easier after all the holidays to stay away from the junk and goodies. Im not a big Valentines day or Easter Candy addict.. so I can usually do pretty good once the winter holidays are past.

I am checking out a new gym this weekend. My old one sorta screwed me over so Im gonna have to find a new one and I saw that there is a Curves opening up right up around the corner from me... walking distance from my house, so I may just check in to how much they are. If not, there is a 24 hour fitness that is close too.

My goal this week is to plan my meals out for the next month. At least for Breakfast & lunch. Ive gotten into the horrible habit of not eating breakfast again... and sometimes no lunch until about 3:00, then I overeat at dinner because by then Im starving. Really there is NO excuse for it.. Im just being lazy. Its time to change THAT habit and get back to drinking my water regularly again. Im thinking just doing that will help a TON with getting things on track easier after the 1st of the year.

Thanks pawprint for keeping this group alive and going over the past several months! You rock girlfriend!!

You bet that Cindi and I are harrassing people to come back, I miss the old bunch. Water, oh my I've totally forgotten water, Guess I can start there. This weekend I will go out and buy good foods and get started again. My Tony has surgery on Thursday at 11:30 so please say a few prayers for me and him. I know that hernia operations are routine but he is my baby and I am worried even though I don't let him know. So I need prayers to be calm and he needs them for the surgery. If you don't hear from me before the New Year, I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!! To a healthy and happy New Year, I love you all!!
  • I hate being sick. I was in bed all day yesterday. Couldn't keep anything down. Today I feel like I was hit by a truck. I'm feeling better, but man oh man does it knock you down. I'm so stiff, my back is killing me. I really hope that my daughter doesn't get it. That would not be cool. Well that's about it, just checking in...

Thanks. I feel so much better.

I think alot of the weight that we gain is water weight... high amounts of sodium and salt and such.

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe new year.

Hey sorry I've been gone visiting but now I'm back

    So here's the damage:

    SW 198, GW 140, CW 170= 3lbs gain

I am determined to loose the other 30 lbs by summer to reach my goal of 140lbs. So I'm starting this week looking at where I have more time to work out and getting serious about what I'm eating. No excuses about holidays and family, just me being accountable to myself and y'all. So I'll keep you posted.

In other news I had a great holiday with my parents and then my husbands mother- they both live in Fl- We flew down to see them. Next week holds a couple of big changes for me; I'm turning 30, having braces put on my upper teeth and getting a tattoo. I'm really excited about 30, I'm so glad to be done with the 20's I can't even tell you. Looking forward to maybe having a baby in the next three years or so, we'll see. Any how just wanted to say thanks for all the support. I love reading you stories even if I don't comment. You are such a wonderful group and have helped in on my journey to self love though love of my body.

The last time I logged my weight was 10/30/09 that was my weight lowest point of 239.1 and I am back up to 246.1. I don't know it my ticker changed, if it didn't I will be working on changing that to reflect what 2010's start is. I am going to get back on track. I will go get good foods this weekend when I have someone here to watch my son for me. I pray that I can meet my goal in 2010. I started off with wanting to lose 98lbs in June of 2009, as of todays weight I've lost 27lbs because of a 7lb weight gain. 2010 will be a good year for all of us!!!

BTW my son's surgery went well and he is home doing well, he is up walkng around some.

This was a horrible week for me. I was doing well and getting through the holidays, but then we had pizza to celebrate the New Year and it just devastated everything. This being at home thing is not working out for me! At school I am active and I eat well, but at home I sit around, and my eating pattern is so irregular. I'm gaining more than I'm losing, and I can't wait to go back to my schedule!! The 17th won't come fast enough!

Oh, not to mention the only thing we have to eat in the house for a meal is leftover pizza. It's just so frustrating! I'm going to buy my own food when my parents go back to work. Maybe that will help some.

I hope everybody had a great week regardless of numbers, and Happy Birthday to 2010! :drinker:

Well... there ya have it... my lowest was 212 last June.. so in the past 6 months of sitting on my butt Ive managed to gain back 10lbs. Im owning it tho... and moving forward. No point in beating myself up over it! I know that about 5 of those lbs are from the last 2 months of eating crap since halloween. So should be pretty easy to see them disappear, right?!

I did myself a BIG favor yesterday. I hit best buy and got the Biggest Loser workout for the Wii. Got it all set up this morning and did my first workout. Jillian kicked my butt and it wasnt even a hard workout.:blushing: After that workout, I hit the wii fit and did another 1/2 hour of stuff on there, then went for a nice long walk with Diego around the neighborhood.

SO.. I can say that I got my workout in today AND that so far Ive drank about 3/4 of my water allowance for the day. I also even ate breakfast, a morning snack AND lunch already and have a plan of action for dinner....

Oh yeah.. it feels good to be back in gear!! ;0)
  • Hey all. I've made the choice not to weigh myself as much. I'm losing more in inches, and seeing awesome results that the scale really doesn't matter that much to me right now. I saw a friend today who I haven't seen in a while and the first thing she asked was if I've lost weight and how good I looked. It made me feel good. I've lost a total of 12 inches since I started this mission and I ain't stopping.

I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and a happy new year. I'm super tired, so I am hitting the sack. I plan on catching up on reading tomorrow.
  • Hi Everyone...well Holiday Season is finally over and I hope everyone had a Safe and Great Holiday season. Me was different and sad too. As some of you know my dad was sick, with cancer.....we lost him on December 24th, so our Christmas was sort of a sad one with his passing then the visitations, and his memorial. But I personally take peace in knowing he is not suffering anymore. Was sad near the end as he was always such a vibrant, energetic person and to see him bedridden and so weak was upsetting.

Anyways, now it is time to move on, get up off my knees and brush them off and get back on track. Get all this junk food out of my house - and just move on forward. For those of you who missed my last posting - found out what was wrong with my stomach regarding the cookie tossing. I just have a really bad stomach when it comes to acid's and now taking Nexium on a daily basis to keep that under control. It has been quite a while since I have actually thrown up.

It is great to see all my old friends here still - still working hard at doing a lifestyle change. I have a lot of work ahead of me I know that....and this is the week I am going to start. First by resetting my counter if I can figure out how. It will be a slow start for me I know, but I can do this.

You all take care...and hugs to you all and congrats on your continuous efforts.

PS...that was easy...ticker has been reset.

buttonnose - I am sorry to hear about your dad passing. I lost my father 3 years ago and still miss him everyday. Good luck with reaching your goals.
  • Button-I'm very sorry to hear about your dad passing. But, like you said now he is no longer suffering. I hope he went peacefully. Now you can move one knowing he's okay now and no longer in pain. Now, get back to taking care of yourself girl. Get rid of all the junk food... I have the same problem with my tummy. I think I mentioned that before when you posted before about it but I can't remember. I have learned the hard way what trigger foods I can no longer eat, or if I do to make sure I have my pills with me just in case. But, alot of the foods that mess my tummy up with the acid problem, also triggers my IBS so yeah it sucks. But you do learn to adapt and it's helped me make better eating choices.
  • Hi Everyone,
I am coming back today to get back on track and hopily lose 41 pounds this year. I got back on the exercise kick today
already with an hour already and have drank almost 40 ounces of water. I gained back 15 pounds in the last six months
with 5 of it being through the month of December with the birth of my first local grandson and the holidays. So ready to get back on track.

Always been here reading but made excuses not to get back on board. Congratulations to the ones been here losing or maintaining. Thanks Pawprint for keeping the board going - I so appreciated it.

My name is Lisa and I am from Indiana. I work nights at a local Autozone Distribution Center. I have two married children and
five soon to be six grandchildren. My daughter and four soon to be five children live in Montana 1604 miles away. I love the encouragement from this thread and am going to stick with it this time. So if I slip please give me a holler and help me to stay on board as I will do the same for you.

    Have a good day all.

Hey I'm here... LOL... Thanks pawprint for the messages.. I've been keeping in touch with a few people still on Facebook... Let me tell you all a little about me..

My name is Anita.. I'm married, 45, mom of 2 and grand mother to 3 .. I love my grand kids... I joined MFP last year I think in Feb. Right after I came back from visiting my husband in El Paso TX. He was there working for 6 weeks and it was hard.. Well I lost some weight on here, and was doing great.. Then tragedy.... My nephew died at 36 days old.. My cousin died at 46 and then my uncle died ... It was just hard.. I was on and off here and then just didn't come back... I haven't even stepped on the scale.. That is all going to change tomorrow...

My husband should be leaving in a week to go work in TX again... UGG... not looking forward to it... He is going to be gone for about 4 or 5 months so I will be traveling there about every 3 or 4 weeks, I am not good at flying.. Matter of fact I hate it...

So I really need the support system.. I really need my Team.....

I need my *kitten* kicked and I know a few of you that can do it....

    Anita
  • Wow...looks like we all stepped away approximately at the same time. Sorry about all your losses Anita...that must have been tough for you.

Like Anita...haven't even stepped on the scale yet. No exercise today as of yet...but hey...on the bright side I have logged in what I was going to eat for the day. I always found that helpful - to plan out the day instead of taking it as I go. If it is laid out for me...then I stick to it...as I see the calories..and it guides me to what I can and can't have extra if I do get hungry.
    So...baby steps for me.

I see both Anita and Lisa gave a brief history reintroducing themselves...so I will do the same.

My real name is Vicki, I am 50 years old with a wonderful husband, 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren....Love and adore them all they are my world. I work as an Administrative Assistant in a Financial Planning office and love my job but so looking forward to my retirement in 5 years. That is one of my main reasons for a lifestyle change is that when I retire I want to be healthy and fit to be able to enjoy life with my hubby doing all the things we want to do. Plus also want to live a healthy life to watch my family grow.

I am Canadian and love the North. Currently I live in Southwestern Ontario, but our dream is to move North upon retirement.

That's about it for me...Happy to be back with old friends for support and look forward to working with our new fitness pals in order to support one another in meeting our goals. My goal is to lose 60 pounds.

    Hugs...

:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: - that is what I need to get going on today!!!
