    Wait.....thats not true?
    i'm doing a personal training course atm and my teacher says anything above 20 reps is cardio.

    Ask him why does my heart feel like its about to jump out of my chest after Deadlifting super heavy for 5 reps. If that's not a cardio workout I don't know what is.

    I need this to put on facebook. Too many of my friends on there are cardio queens because they want to keep their "feminine" shape.

    I am a Personal trainer...You might want to check the cert you are getting into...

    Try a 260 pound sled pull up and down a parking lot on an incline - just once and I swear your heart will be flying out of your chest - at least mine was...

    Hey I do cardio. I'm up to almost 2 hours...for the year. 500g carbs/day and zero cardio :)

    Yes. I mentioned my Pinterest board earlier. I wonder what others must think of me. I see the main board full of "detox teas", "how to lose 10 pounds fast" and light dumbbell routines. I'm pinning videos on proper squat form.

    Because the statement "anything above 20 is cardio" is so broad and a big generalization that as a teacher shouldn't be said, or should be explained better.

    Love this thread! I feel like the sole female at my gym who shuns the cardio machines. I love the first post in this thread. I'd love to have that postcard!

Hey I was pretty ignorant when I got to MFP but I'm learning;) By the way, before anyone who doesn't think weight-lifting is better than anything else, ignorant just means a lack of information. I read and read, researched what the experts were saying and when I balanced it all out, weight training took the Gold!

    He meant that anything over 20reps with 3 or more sets (endurance whilst lifting lighter weights, with higher reps with short rest periods) counts as cardio because you are expending the muscles on the same thing for such a long time.
