I, like many, did not initially like the taste of almond milk. I had originally tried the unsweetened variety, and did not like the taste at all. Someone suggested that I try the vanilla variety, and have not used milk since. It is a few more calories that the unsweetened, but very palatable. It has been a great compliment to every cereal that I have thrown at it, at half the calories of milk. I suggested it to a friend that was having digestive issues with milk. She likes it as well, and does not have the digestive issues as she had with milk.
  • i love it, specifically Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk...it has only 30 calories a cup! it is a great substitue for regular milk in cereal, coffee and protien shakes! way less sugar than regular milk to! i don't drink it on its own..unless its the sweetened kind..and even then it has less calories that fat free milk

We made the switch and what's great is that my daughters both love it too. We still keep some 1% milk around for them to drink with dinner and put on their cereal. My only complaint is the cost.

Just don't drink it everyday or consume too much of it. While it's pretty good for you, it also have it's bad.

I love almond milk. I'm lactose intolerant and this doesn't bother my stomach at all. The flavor seems nice to me...sweeter than regular milk and so I love it on bran or other plain cereals. All I can say is give it a shot! You might like it.

i can drink the sweetened vanilla all day, but since the calories are so high, i use unsweetened and just use it for my protein shakes. tastes amazing

I can not have regular milk so I started using light soy vanilla. But I have also used almond before. They are both ok in things like oatmeal, cereal etc. Cant really drink a whole glass though.

I don't really get why you wouldn't just use regular milk for a protein shake...seeing how the goal is to get protein...and almond milk has just about none.
  • I love vanilla almond milk with my cereal, but not as much for drinking alone.

I like it! I guess it depends on how much you like nut flavors. I'm also pretty sure the brand matters. I usually get either Whole Foods or Trader Joe's brand in either original or vanilla. :)

Yeah... I tried it. It tastes okay. But it turns out that regular non-fat dairy was a better source of protein and potassium so I switched back. Don't fall for the hype around this product. I personally wouldn't recommend it unless you are vegan/vegetarian or you are just lactose intolerant. Otherwise, stick to plain ol' milk (non-fat of course).

I'm lactose intolerant, so there's the huge benefit of not making myself sick... lol I like that it's low cals, I don't drink it on it's own, but I never drank regular milk on it's own either. I just use it in recipes, from frittatas to protein bars to shakes. And I love it for that purpose!
  • I've been off cow's milk, and been a devoted fan of Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla or Original for at least two years. I LOVE it! PLUS, its only 40 calories for 8 oz, and fortified with plenty of vitamin D & calcium like cow's milk. It's also got potassium in it.

I drink it, use it in smoothies, on cereal, in iced coffee. YUM. I loved it the first time I tried it.

I have tried Silk's version, but hate it. If you like the creaminess of milk, then I'd give Almond Breeze a try. If you like the watery taste of skim milk, then I guess give Silk's a try. It was bland, and watery to me.

    Give it a try!

I love Almond milk. You have to make sure to check for sugar and added ingredients though. Some lmilks can be thick becuase of all the added ingredients.

I have a VItamix so I make mine at home.Ive tried Soy and coconut milk but Almond seems to be my favorite.

I drink it almost exclusively. I like the Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla. The only thing I would not suggest is heating it up to make cocoa for mocha, heating it makes it taste weird. I do put it into hot coffee, though, and that is fine.
