Silly Fears

Centipedes, dolls, elevators, electronic devices becoming sentient, the automated recording when you call a disconnected number (terrifying, don't ask me why)
And ghosts.... not ghosts exactly, but if I saw a ghost, not knowing if ghosts exist (which would be more sad than scary) or if I'm hallucinating (I would take it to mean I have schizophrenia which runs heavily in my dad family and having it is like my greatest fear)
During my childhood, I used to have nightmares about my dolls coming alive. Every night when going to sleep I had to make sure their faces were turned away so I wouldn't see them staring at me. I think this stemmed from when my parents took me to Disneyland all the time when I was just barely a toddler (we lived in SoCal) and rode "It's a Small World." I was traumatized by the dolls flying, dancing and singing. At my young age, I still knew that somehow dolls weren't supposed to do that and it creeped me out. Then, one time at about the age of 2, I wanted to play with some little turtle nick-nacks (off-limits for me) my mom kept on a shelf with her Madame Alexander dolls. I couldn't reach them and got a broom to try to knock them off the shelf. I missed and the broom brushed against one of the dolls' eyes and they started blinking. O-M-G. I don't think it's common for 2-year-olds to have heart attacks but I think I came pretty close. I still remember that day. My parents could never understand why I never wanted to play with dolls after that. They thought I would be a tomboy because I would rather have played with Matchbox cars. Only recently did I tell them about this and they never knew ...0 -
Flickering light, or light that won't turn on properly. I'm not scared of the dark, lights that don't work at all are ok :L0

Bees/wasps/hornets
Spiders/bugs (but not all)
Not water so much as drowning
Not afraid of the dark, but we have an old house and the light at the end of the hall has to be on at all times. If the bulb goes, I'm afraid to go up there! I will run with my eyes closed (as to not see anything I don't want to) until I get to the regular light switch to turn the rest on. *sigh*
Afraid that something will happen to my children. It grips me all too often.
I'm sure there are others...I have more fears than I realize!0 -
I just acquired two, silly, irrational fears:
1. I may never learn how a boob can get caught in a 3 ring binder.
AND
2. My profuse and vibrant sense of humor may not be appreciated by others.
