My condolences on the loss of your mom. Both of my parents are gone now, and I miss them dearly every day. What you are undertaking is a wonderful way to both honour your mom (I'm sure she would be very proud of you) and, even more importantly, get your health in order. Looking great for your daughter's wedding would be a wonderful side benefit, and clearly doable. Feel free to friend me if you would like :flowerforyou:0

I am so sorry! I lost my mom 4 years ago and it still hurts. But, taking care of yourself is such a great way to pay tribute to your mom and the love she had for you. She would want you to be happy and healthy, and have the best life that you possibly can. I wish you the best of luck!0

I am brand new to MFP. My mom died 4 years ago, and I am still grieving! You sound similar to me. i have gained my weight over 30-some years. I've not really dieted much. I hate to work out, but go in spurts. Have bad knees. I'm also a nurse who works rotating all 3 shifts ( 8's and 12's), so difficult to get into a routine. I set my weight loss goal low at first so it would be easier to achieve over time. If (or should I say "when") I hit my first goal, i plan to set a new one. Good luck to you and tonight I will say a prayer for your strength!0
