I would have liked it to be more, but considering the hell of a week I've had, I will SO take it. Plus, I know in the long run, losing 1-2 pounds a week is sustainable and I know what I'm doing at the moment with food and exercise I can keep up with. I'm creeping along!0 -
akasullengal - Congrats on on the weight loss and getting through week 1. I remember so well gasping for breath after those short runs in the first weeks of C25K training. It gets easier and it does feel so great to run now. Next week all 3 days are 25 min runs for me (*gulp*). I can do it. People tell me running is mental so I keep trying to psych myself up for it. Life is great when your biggest problem is your pants are TOO big wink I can't wait for it to get warmer so I can run outside.
blombie - I hope Zumba was fun. Good luck on the weigh-in today.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that I have been eating more this week. Still haven't gotten around to logging my food yet because I knew I was going over. I only exercised Monday night and last night.

I am glad were all down lbs! YAY!
I am feeling real good.. Yesterday I told myself that if I was gonna have a cheat day, it was gonna be yesterday & yesterday ONLY! Well, I went through my day not even craving anything... When I got home I asked my BD to go to the bodega and get munchies.. he told me "BAbe, you really dont need that *kitten*!" That was a 1st! Anyways, I am glad he said no, cause in 15 minutes I felt better.. SO yay for me!
I am really trying to conquer this fatness.. I am not really following what my nutritionist said because I ahve heard it all before.. and the way she wanted me to eat wasn't working for me.. I have seen many a nutritionist.. But apparently doing what I am doing is poushing towards where I want to be... My graduation is coming up.. 1/22/10.. and I would like to be down like 5 (thats stretching it) lbs... just a personal goal.
I don't think I'm going though.. I don't know, maybe I'll get my cap & gown & take pictures then go out with my family.. drinks & dinner.. I don't knowwww... ughh. I'm leaning towards not going...0 -

Great job on all the weight loss this week ladies!!! I lost one pound this week. I'll take it. I weighed in at 212 immediately upon waking up....but then after drinking some coffee, and re weighing myself I was down a pound. Coffee makes me do weird things.....ha ha.

Not working out today, lots of stuff to do......and my knee is bothering me (old blown tendon injury). maybe i am jogging too much. still, i'll try to take my son for a bike ride later.

horrible day for eating for me. and was going to work out, but didn't get out of bed until 2pm and by the time I got ready and my act together, it would be closing soon.
ever since i've gotten home from the holidays, i'll do relatively good throughout the week and then blow my caloric intake out of the water one day. ARGH. I need to get myself together!
On a positive note, i found 2 recipes to try this week that are healthy and look yummy. should make my eating habits good for the week. the plan tomorrow is to go to the rec center and do day 1 of week 2 of c2k.0 -
Congats on the weight losses. Yeah!!! We are all doing so well.
I was good with calories on fri but went 1000 over yesterday - to much beer cheese soup, deep fried pickles and Jimmy johns (and maybe a few beers). We went to 2 brewpubs fri and 4 sat. DH is a fan of pubs and it is his birthday weekend. I did manage to squeeze in a few workouts and walked all over dowtown Ann Arbor. We are having a great time. I promise to eat well today.
Nikki - you should go to the graduation. You earned it. At least celebrate with your family.0 -
Pinbot! You were in Ann Arbor? My town! SO close to me! haha. I love downtown Ann Arbor. Beer Cheese soup? Did you go to Grizzly Peak? Ann Arbor is dangerous cause it has so many amazing restaurants!
I did day 1 of week 2 of c2k today and did relatively well with it. Had a couple of tough points where I had to push through the running, but it wasn't horrible. For some reason, I had it in my head that it was 90sec of running and 60sec of walking... flipped from week 1, but it was 2 min of walking, so I didn't panic and was ready by the end of that to run again. Next week will be interesting with 3 minutes of running. eep! Did 30 minutes on the elliptical afterwards, which made me feel good after that calorie fest from yesterday.

akasullengal - I am so jealous that you live in Ann Arbor. Yes, Sat we went to Grizzly Peak, Blue Tractor and Arbor Brewing. Today we went to Ashley's for lunch - I see that they have pub trivia on Mondays - Is this where you play? I would be there every Monday if I lived closer. 70 beers on tap and I had to be the DD :grumble:. It was a long ride home this afternoon with the 2 not so sober guys. Thank goodness for rest areas. My brother graduated from U of M many years ago ('92) and he can't believe how much the campus has changed. We had a great time talking about our youthful indiscretions on the campus. My husband is already talking about a return trip since he missed the Jolly Pumpkin Brewery. We have a baby shower in Chelsea (sp?) in late Feb so will probably stay with our friends again. It's a good thing I live far away so that I am not tempted by all that good food and beer. Well I am off to bed. 4 hours of driving has made me tired. I have a long day of work tomorrow.0

Pinbot- I'm glad you had a good time in Ann Arbor! There are many a yummy breweries, pubs, and restaurants in town. Great, but also very tempting when one wants to be good with his/her diet. Probably a good thing you don't live super close! I haven't been to Jolly Pumpkin yet either. Need to make a stop there. I love Ashleys, but I actually don't do trivia there. I do it at Conor O'Neills, the Irish pub in town. I haven't done Ashley's, but Conor's is known for being the most intense trivia in town, so I would probably find Ashley's a bit wussy. I was thinking about going to pub trivia tonight, but as I had one big caloric mess this weekend, I really shouldn't do another evening of crappy food (8 dollar burger (in my case, veggie) and beer trivia nights!), so I'll probably pass this evening. Glad you made it back upstate safe and sound!
Hope everyone's weekend went well. Life is still pretty discombobulated at the moment, and I'm looking forward to a bit more routine in my life again, because I know the stress is adding to my inability to keep my eating as under control as it had been. It's been super weird basically starting a new job in the last week. I might go to the rec center today. I'm going to a meeting across town, and I have a huge amount of reading to do for a training this week, so I might work from home this afternoon, and might do my rec center trip this afternoon, do some of my reading while I'm elliptical-ing. We'll see.

Happy MOnday! I barely ate anything all weekend.. no dinner 3 days in a row... lack of appetite.. Wonder what I weigh today..
I dnt know if its from the wellbutrin or what? either way, I don't care.. I wanna be skinnier...lets see.. I have been CRAVING goolash, So thats what I'll make for dinner..
This morning I beat temptation over the head with a metal bat.. I went to get my morning coffee, and the choclate donut stick was like "Nikki.. Eat Me.. You know you want meee" & I said outloud ( I looked CRAZY, LOL) You don;t taste good.. I wanna be ME! SKINNY!.. I got my coffee and left.. Yay! That was the first time in almost 2 weeks that i ahve been temtped by fat foods..0 -
My weekend was alright. I made Joey leave and I had the house to myself all weekend. It was GREAT sleeping in my own bed. Plus I let my dog Lexi sleep in there with me (Joey doesn't allow her on the bed but I love when she keeps me company all night). And then Joey came back yesterday around 5pm and asked me to stay so we can go over the bills and we had a very large fight. Basically he says "we need to figure out the money" but by "we" he means "YOU" and I keep telling him I don't know how to split the bills. Plus he keeps saying the whole "WE need to sell the house" but he really means "YOU"....its pissing me off. I don't have all the answers. We will MAYBE break even if we use a realtor to sell the house after all the fees and taxes so I'm kind of considering putting it up for sale by owner. But to do that I have to find comparable prices and figure out what a realistic value of my house is. I keep asking Joey what he's done to help me with it but he doesn't answer- he changes the subject. And then he got mad at me because I "only" cleaned up my bathroom this weekend. I have all these sticker decals on the walls that I'm pulling down and they are not coming off easily. So yeah...its not done but I did spend a lot of time working on it. I also relaxed and watched all the dvr-ed shows that I've missed in the past month and played with Lexi and visited a friend in the hospital who is having surgery today and had a nice, quiet weekend. When I ask what he's done to help get this house ready to be sold he makes up some b-s about "well, I pakced all my stuff up and took it down to the trailor"....right.....

Way to beat the doughnut Nikki!! I overcame this weekend, when my hubby stopped at Mcdonalds for lunch. I ate a southwest salad with grilled chicken (really yummy and spicy I might add!). I was proud of myself
aka....sorry life is in upheaval right now. mine is a little too. I am starting to think, that is just life. at least we have eachother to lean on ... and not ice cream.
im off to work out.....not wanting to do it, but too bad!!

Nikki- glad you were able to get your eating under control. just make sure you don't undereat, as your metabolism will slow down like whoa and the weight loss won't last. it could be the wellbutrin... i know it's more activating than most antidepressants and can be an appetite suppressant. A happy side effect! great job for skipping the donut!
Blombie- I'm glad you enjoyed being at home. It's amazing how much life is better when you can sleep in your own bed! your hubby blows.

I went to the rec center this afternoon. Did an hour on the elliptical and was working pretty hard on it, so i was proud of myself. the plan is to go tomorrow again and do day 2 of week 2 of c2k. eating has been good today. i made a potato and winter greens casserole that's pretty low calorie, but our oven is having problems (the roomies burned butter on the bottom while making cheesecake and it keeps smoking), so that's not going to happy. but it's all assembled, so i should be able to bake tomorrow. i did make a crispy tofu, green bean, tomato pasta salad, which looks yummy. I will probably bring some for lunch tomorrow.
I'll be curious to see what I weigh tomorrow. After the weekend, it might not be pretty, but today should be able to help matters.0 -
blombie - I bet it felt good to be home. I am glad your moving on. Guys can be such idiots. Good luck getting everything sorted out.

I had a long 11 hour day of work and am tired. I did manage to make it to moms for a quick workout tonight. Thankfully, I dont have to see any clients until noon tomorrow. I will catch up tomorrow. I missed my c25k training yesterday - I will just have to move the week from Sun, Tues, Thur to Tues, Thurs, Sat...0 -

AKA, good job for going to the gym.. I really wish I had a gym membership, cause I have been trying to do the 30 day shred and my kids don't let me get 10 minutes in before screaming for attention or climbing over/under me..

I made goolash alst night.. I ate too much; 2c spaghetti, .5 sauce( I made it skimpy..lol) & .75 hamburg.. Whoo, I was soo stuffed, BUt I was starvin when I was cooking & I didnt snack at all while cooking..
I also can't sleep now AKA, I will fall asleep by 9 or 10 and I'm up at 2am.. everyday for the past week or so... I guess its the wellbutrin..? maybe..
I got a reduced fat blueberry muffin today.. Reduced fat my *kitten*! its still 400 calories.. I ahve only taken 2 bites so far, I'm gonna eat it slow, between pts, and hopefully I don't eat it all..0 -

Gals, I did eat a fair bit of sodium yesterday, but I know really it's the weekend and all those little things adding up. I'm not one, not two, but THREE points up from Friday. *headdesk* The pants I had started wearing again cause they were looser on me are now cutting into my tummy as I sit here in type, and totally deserve it. I need to get my self back on track. The exercise has been pretty consistent. The eating isn't.ARGH. *weeps* I know it's a long journey and all to my ultimate goals, but this blows!0 -
Ohh yeahh! *& I have a lunch date! yes, tisk tisk, its not my BD, but whatever.. Were on the outs.. But I don't wanna eat too bad.. I already have my mind set on a grilled chicken salad, but I don't know where we are going...0

Welcome to this group Debra :flowerforyou: I need you to kick my tush and get me to work on week 7 of c25k. I tried but after 10 min of running I slowed it back down to a power walk - at least I stayed on for 30 min and did 2 miles.
aka - its the Ann Arbor food. I was up 3 pounds yesterday and am sure it was water weight. It was off this morning but I also weighed in 3 hours later than normal... We will see what Friday brings.
nikki - have fun on your lunch date.
I am feeling better than yesterday but am not back to my normal cheerful self. Another day of rest should do it. It just feels like the winter blahs have set in - too much cold and snow.0 -

We had 2 types of deep fried pickles this weekend (thank goodness the appetizers were shared with 4 people so I didn't eat them all). I liked the fried spears better than the fried slices.
I had a nice surprise at the grocery store this afternoon. I ran into a former patient that I haven't seen for about a year. She said she had to look at me 3 times and still didn't believe it was me - she says I was so skinny she didn't recognize me. What a nice compliment :blushing: . It just made my day.0 -

had to skip the rec center after an unexpected monthly visitor came today along with some killer cramps :grumble: (could also be why my weight is up) i'll have to switch c2k to wed/fri this week instead. still plan on going tomorrow. my casserole turned out super yummy too, and pretty low cal!

I should probably share that I did weigh in on January 1, at 216.4...so I should be 206.4 at Valentine's...that would be great! I only lost 1 oound last week.
I gave myself a challenge to burn 1000 calories a day this week I started Sunday..we'll see how it goes, I have been doing the elliptical for an extra 500 calories ,after my scheduled workout so far I have been feeling great!
Pinbot, that comment is fantastic ( and well deserved) and it should carry you right through week 7 of c25k!!!
I had a small ego boost tonight myself, I took my son to wrestling practice and a Mom walked by me and said, wow..your hair looks nice, and another Mom standing beside be took a long look at me and said...yes, it does look nice, it looks healthy and shiny....but they were both just kinda studying me, you know, like they knew something was different, but didn't know what....I thought maybe it was because you can start to tell that I am losing...BECAUSE my hair is in bad need of a haircut...it's been since last August since I had it cut ...honest:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: , made me feel good anyway!
AKA, bummer on you not feeling well....I hate that surprise visit!!! Hope you had a nice cup of tea and a hot bath.:flowerforyou:

Nikki, pasta and muffins...they are both my downfalls, but I have switched to wheat pastas and I don't notice a difference anymore.
