Noticing -- Co-worker behavior

So generally my fellow employees have been gluttons who don't care about their health.
Since I've altered my lifestyle, I have noticed some of them making positive changes and I'm wondering WHAT positive changes you have noticed about your co-workers since you began to alter your lifestyle.
My co-workers:
-No longer go through an entire box of "Friday Doughnuts" in less than an hour (and often there are still many stale doughnuts on monday)
-Many of them have started bringing prepared meals from home.
-Several have stopped drinking soda and other sugary drinks
Since I've altered my lifestyle, I have noticed some of them making positive changes and I'm wondering WHAT positive changes you have noticed about your co-workers since you began to alter your lifestyle.

My boss has finally started a few healthy habits.
He tries to drink mostly green tea now, instead of dr pepper.
He packs his lunch instead of ordering out.
He also has been cutting back on his outside sugar sources (candies, cokes, etc)
His activity levels haven't really changed, but he lives on a farm and milks his own cows every day before work, as well as other farm related chores. He's active, just mostly needing to change his eating habits.
I work in Corrections, which is notorious for over-weight people. As a matter of fact, most of my shift is over-weight (including me). But it starts with one person and will hopefully carry over to the others, at least some.0 -
I don't think my boss eats! I never see him with food!!!!
Everyone else eats pretty healthy as I work with a lot of sporty guys- triathletes, runners bikers, climbers etc

Cracks me up about the donuts.
Someone brought in Dunkin Donuts this morning and the box was down to crumbs by 8:05.0 -
My boss is a werid reptile/lizard creature (similar to the old scifi series V). I'm pretty sure he eats whole mice and children0

The last time the boss brought in donuts, he also brought in a big pile of fruit. I won't say the fruit went before the donuts, but many of us chose fresh fruit instead with gratitude.0

I share an office with one other person and he has been on a weight-loss campaign for about a year. Before he was very discreet about what he was eating; but now that he knows I'm on a weight-loss campaign he's less embarrassed. We still don't really talk about it; but there's less self-consciousness for either of us and; the best thing is that we're definitely not undermining each other's efforts!0

My co-workers have messed up eating habits.
My boss eats nothing all day and then eats a three course dinner at the hotel + family sized bag of chocolate- then feels guilty next day and so eats nothing again.
Another colleague has gained 3 stone in 3 months and has admitted to waking up in the night to eat cake.
Another colleague has lost loads and loads of weight on weight watchers and everyone is congratulating him, but he hardly eats at all now and spends all his points on alcohol.
It makes me all the more determined to stick to my healthy, balanced approach to weight loss.0 -

My coworker would say "man, I'm thirsty!" and go get a coffee (in what world does coffee quench thirst?!)
Now, she has a 591mL bottle of water each day. She can't get over my 3L, but it's a great start for her!
My other coworker is a lost cause. She complains but has a bag full of candy, BBQ peanuts and crackers at her desk, and that's all she eats, all day. Along with her 2-3 xl coffees! (she's diabetic too)0 -
I havent really noticed any changes in my co-workers but more my whole town! I live in a very small mountain town and since my results have become quite noticeable people have jumped on board. I started the C25K program but no one knew and I would run at night because I didn't want anyone to see me. Then as I became a little more comfortable with it I would run in the early evening so people would see me more and start asking "what are you training for" my answer is always.... LIFE! It has helped keep me motivated seeing so many people joining me with this journey and I hope they all succeed!!0

I have one friend that was naturally skinny up until very recently - shes gained around 10# a year for 3 years now. I was gaining too before I quit that and found MFP and started doing what I should have always been doing.
I feel like since Ive lost 17# this same friend (whom I do truly love) is in a race with me to GAIN weight. She guzzles soda now like they are water bottles and laughs while she buys candy for lunch. Not a candy bar- but candy like a 5 year old would eat. Lolipops, cowtails and circus peanuts. Im actually repulsed and cant take an invite to lunch any more. She'll offer me a nice sandwich and shovel mnt dew with pizza nuggets (or whatever those little pockets of crap are) into her own gullet. It just makes me sad when she says she has a head ache, is dizzy or feelign bloated. She truly has no clue hates all vegetables and wouldnt touch something made out of wheat if it was all she could have for the day.0 -
Interesting dynamics at work here.
I have one coworker who is a truly elite athlete (swam in college), especially when it comes to triathlons (he usually beats a few pro's when he races), but his diet isn't very good. His good choices are 50/50 -- sometimes he'll eat healthy, other times he'll get something awful - like Chinese food. He almost always drinks mountain dew at lunch and eats potato chips. Then goes and runs 5:50 - 6 min / miles. Seriously. FML.
In terms of how we sit - there is a table at the rear of our cube farm that ALWAYS has candy on it (right now: Twix). Some coworkers will nibble here and there, but I stay away at all costs. Because one small piece turns into five.
One of my bosses has somewhat revised his eating habits as a result of some of us eating healthier. He doesn't always make the right choice, but he's still definitely cognizant of what he eats. The rest of my coworkers are pretty selective with their diets.0 -

I work in a small office, so I don't have a lot of co-workers. One has lost 25 pounds and the other has lost 35 and still has about 60 to go.
Another has joined me in my daily '100 Flights' stair climb goal. We go out into the stairwell several times a day and run 25 flights on each round.
Other people in the building who are not my co-workers, but who I see frequently in passing, have also started stair-climbing.
Two of my neighbors at home have stopped me and told me that seeing me walk and lose weight has inspired them to get out and exercise.
And best of all... my husband has cleaned up his eating, started exercising and is down 15 pounds since June.
The ironic thing, I didn't say a word to any of them about losing weight, exercising or eating healthier. I waited for them to approach me.0 -
I work in IT at a college ... there is always food around. The food is always sugar heavy, carb heavy and super yummy. The only thing that has changed at the office is that my team-mates now tell me how many calories are in the food they have brought to share. LOL0

My one co-worker survives on noodles and air so no changes there.
The other still smokes like a chimney but has told me she's now incorporated her "exercises" into her smoke breaks.
Intrigued, I asked for her to show them to me. She lifts her arms over her head and back down. Then asked ME what I did for exercise since I looked a lot thinner.
I said "well, it's a little more involved than that."0 -
My office only has about seven people and I was the 2nd tallest and 2nd heaviest. (the one person heavier is a guy about an inch taller and 60lbs heavier) With two exceptions we are all obese. I started doing better and bringing my own food. This hasn't really done anything yet but my boss and one coworker will talk about eating better because of the weight I have lost. WHen it comes time for catered breakfast or lunch (we get one usually every other week) my boss will say we are doing a healthy lunch or breakfast but it will be bagels and cream cheese or sandwhiches with tons of mayo and other stuff. It's better than before but they think "healthy" snacks to stock the office with include slim jims and those weird orange square crackers and get offended that I don't eat that stuff. It's a hard environment. They think Im being rude because they really think they are being healthy but I'm trying to watch sodium and have to turn it down.0

OP - That's awesome that you have inspired your coworkers towards more healthy habits!
I work for a company that was founded on healthy lifestyles and positive changes for life, so most of my coworkers are pretty healthy. I have noticed that most people who start here overweight usually see some change within the first few months. It's just in the AIR around here.
Most of my department are very healthy...we all eat well and exercise, except for my boss. She is about 5' tall and around 200 pounds. She had 2 hip replacements in the past few years, so she uses that as her excuse to do absolutely NO exercise of any kind. She is constantly on some band wagon or other of extreme dieting/lifestyle change. The current plan involves eating for your body type...or something like that. She has got to be some sort of closet eater, because all I ever see her eat is a couple spoons of oatmeal and maybe a half-serving of carrots with an apple for lunch. No way she could be sustaining her weight on THAT! LOL But maybe she's drinking those calories instead... :huh:0 -
I've worked at this little place for a few years ...... when I started, all my coworkers were heavy ...... lunches were always takeout food ..... pizza, Mexican, Chinese, burgers & fries ..... and let's not forget the candy, donuts, cookies & chips in the staff kitchen. ........ I always got invited to share, but just said "no, thanks" and ate whatever I brought from home ..... (they liked me anyway LOL)
After awhile I noticed that my two youngest coworkers were cutting back on their takeout lunches & are less prone to "snack attacks" ..... they bring their own food & I've seen them look up calorie-counts on the computer before buying that pumpkin-something coffee at DD ..... but the best thing is, they each go to a gym now ..... one for spin, one for kickboxing & Zumba ..... no kidding, those two characters have lost over 100# between the two of them !
I'd like to take credit .... and if my other coworkers start losing weight & doing exercise, then I will :laugh:0 -
I work in a fairly small office. There are 7 of us locally. I can't say that my weightloss goals or healthy eating has had any effect on my co-workers, they were already doing their own thing weather going to the gym or biking to work. We have a company health and wellness program with regular healthy eating/living semenars, lots of intra office sports in the larger offices (softball, running, biking, hiking, ultimate frisbee, etc.) , a yearly company wide biggest loser competition with cash prizes (a couple of years ago the company dog won), and corporate rate gym memberships with 1/2 paid by the company.
I did notice that ever since we got a new staffer who does MMA all the guys have been more keen to get the gym and get toned up.0 -

Hmmm. Maybe YOU were the donut glutton!
I was thinking this too.... At least I know it was me when they would bring in donuts. Last time someone brought in donuts, half the box sat there until someone threw them out and the answer was "Mike is on a diet, he ain't eating them anymore!" So I know I scarfed half the box most times....0 -
My co workers appear to be eating worse or maybe I am more observant now but exercise wise they are doing well.
We now have an indoor soccer team, we have a zumba night once a month, a few close co workers join me in a boot camp session and we are about to do our second charity fun run in a month.0 -
