Personality or Looks: What do you notice first?

first thing i would notice is looks...since I am looking at them...
^^~Nice...my thoughts exactly. Looks are what get you interested enough to initiate a conversation. If the personality that accompanies those looks is lacking then there wouldn't be any sparks for me....0 -
depends on the situation, but id say looks primarily. its like animalistic instinct....oh and smell and smile. lol.0

It's personality.
But you can attach smile/eyes to personality, I think. If someone really likes you, and they want to get to know you, you can see it in their eyes and in the way they smile. So a nice, friendly smile, kind eyes and a sweet personality have always attracted me.
Other than those things, I am not a visual person at all. You could be tall, short, thin, fat, bald, hairy... I don't care at all.0 -
I don't see how you can see personality before looks, unless you are blind, in which case you couldn't see looks.
Most people always notice looks first. Obviously, personality is (in most cases) the most important thing though.
I could care less if a person is tall, short, wears glasses, etc. It's not like I'm gonna say "she's too tall, I don't want to get to know them, etc."
By looks I assume you mean basic physical appearance. Then you have to factor in things like, are the smiling or scowling? Do they look strung out and distant or engergized and vibrant? Lot's of factors involved that affect looks - and personality.0 -
Looks pull me in personality keeps me! I've dated great looking guys that were jerks or not that smart ... blah it gets old fast.. I've also had great relationships w average good looking guys that are funny and sweet... I'll take the latter ANYday of the week..0

I notice looks first, because I don't think you can understand the person's personality without talking to them first and appearence is something you can notice from far away. So it would have to be physical appearence for me. But if he's an *kitten* personality wise, he can be hottest man alive and I would just walk away.0

I don't know how someone can't notice looks before personality. I mean you have eyes. It's right there for you to see. I notice that before someone talks to me, but I can fall a lot harder for personality than looks.0

I'll be honest.... LOOKS! But, if they're a jerk, I kick them out. I care more about personality... but, looks will grab my attention.0

You can't deny that you notice looks first. And then you can weed at the a@@holes pretty quickly; however, I've meet somepeople who I would say that, based on looks alone, I wasn't attracted. But after talking to them, they became more attractive. Thats just me....0

Well it depends on the situation. I mean you typically see a person before speaking with them, but many attractive women lose points depending on their personality and how they carry themselves. On the flip side, an average looking girl with an awesome personality can end up getting huge point and suddenly become super attractive.
All you ladies that are concerned about your weight, if you are confident, well put together and trying hard to take care of your weight concerns you would be surprised that you are probably as attractive and more interesting then many girls you would look at and envy0
