Obviously MFP is a must have but wondered what else has helped you?
For me the following is a must have:
1. Heart Rate Monitor/Watch
2. Workout Videos...favorite is Turbo Jam so far (done Insanity, Hip Hop Abs, and some Power 90).
3. Sketchers Go Run shoes (love them!)
4. Map My Walk App...another favorite.
I would love to hear your must-haves...

Based on the title, I was going to say hemp seeds until I the saw the OP. Wow! I can't imagine spending the money on any of those things. And for #4, I would have to have one of those fancy phones that allow you to download applications. That's not gonna happen any time soon!

lean protein- things like yogurt, cottage cheese...
good water--
tracker for exercise and calories
endorphins from cardio...it helps keep my moods up
the appropriate gear to workout outside in both good and bad weather
MP3 PLAYER- GOOD HEADPHONES AND ROCKIN' TUNES... AN ABSOLUTE MUST
I need a swift cupa joe before heading out on my morning run ...and a little bite of an energy bar doesn't hurt either..
activities I enjoy- mine are hot yoga and running at the moment
motivational partners in my journey0 -
Somewhere nice to walk where I feel safe and a coffee before it. Pre-logging food in my diary seems to be a must at the moment but I don't intend to have to do it forever. Decent runners too since I have an issue with my foot after breaking a toe a year ago.0

The only must have is losing fat, not weight. That's it. Just losing fat.0

My must haves to help with weight loss are perseverance, good support system, information, and did I say perseverance?0

Chicken. Freezer is chock full of chicken. The white meat is best (ooh, double entendre!), so I stick with that. Chicken, pork and whatever white fish is in season, such as Cod, Whiting, or Tilapia. But I am trying to stick to a high protein diet (+35%).
My must have not is a microwave:
1. Easy access to fast meals, promoting extra and unhealthy eating.
2. Availability for leftovers, promoting extra impulse eating.
I am loving having to cook whatever I eat, and not leave any leftovers. I am definitely eating a lot less, because about 80% of what I eat I have to work for. It is quite an awesome way to go. But I am also single, with no kids, so.....0 -
My asics!! Best shoes ever!

Love this response. Currently at 6 days in a row with a deficit!0 -
Time. Having adequate time every day to make sure I've prepped for work with appropriate lunch and snacks makes all the difference. I don't need anything else if I have time to organize and plan my eating.0

Coffee - zero calorie, delicious, suppresses the appetite.
Nectar of the gods. I'm never *not* drinking it.0 -
My Brooks, because my Chucks are not appropriate for "running". My Adidas drawstring capris that don't fall down past my mommy pooch when I "run".
My iPhone - Runkeeper, Breeze, C25K, and lots and lots of music.
Sleep, just because I love sleep, and the more I exercise the better sleep I seem to get (even without melatonin).0 -
Coffee. OMG coffee.
Chicken. Always in my freezer. When in doubt, chicken
protein-rich snacks like cheese strings, yogurt, etc.
lots of fresh veggies and hummus
Mizuno Wave Enigmas. Love my shoes
Running socks
Those rubbery hair elastics - my long hair in a bun doesn't move when I use those
My slow cooker and my pressure cooker
peanut butter
Sushi. For those days when I'm in a rush and need a healthy lunch/ dinner
Not a must-have but a definite plus is my Garmin and HRM chest strap for more accurate calorie burn during my runs.0 -
Love this thread. Interesting!
My invaluable weight loss tools in no particular order:
1. A precise digital kitchen scale
2. Supplement fibers: Soluble and insoluble
3. Superfeet-ish insoles
4. Tape measure
5. Digital scales
6. Curiosity to try new things, improve myself
7. Spreadsheet with average daily/weekly/monthly intakes
8. Homemade cooking
9. Beta-endorphins from working out
10. Cause I really, really want to give my self the weight loss as a gift!
Edit: I changed "googling" to curiosity.
Just today I tried for me a new food: shirataki noodles. Great stuff!

For weight loss: Plenty of food and time to cook it. Otherwise I end up snacking all day and the calories add up too quickly.
For fitness: running shoes, weights0 -
