    knee-high socks
    lifting shoes
    belt
ball of chalk in a ziplock bag
    lifting notebook & pen

I thought I was the only one that still used pen & paper for my lifting!

I recommend lifting heavier, unless it's a whole lot of paper.

I hear 10 lb reams of paper are pretty heavy. They're probably like 15 lbs or more

    Trainers
    Tracksuit bottoms
    Hoodie
    Armband for phone
    Headphones (2 pairs)
    HRM
    Protein bars

Everything else is in my locker - work are kind enough to supply me a gym for free. :)

My gym itself is what's in my "gym bag." I carry a small durable nylon drawstring bag in my backpack whenever I plan on leaving the house for more than a few hours at a time because the way I see it the world is my gym and I don't like attaching a schedule to my workouts. In my "gym in a bag" (the nylon drawstring bag) you will find: A suspension trainer, my Polar HRM chest strap+transmitter, a jump rope, a change of workout clothes, a tub of pre-workout mix (I always carry my shaker cup as a water bottle anyway), and a small towel. If the mood strikes me I will find a place that has an overhead point to attach the suspension trainer, an elevated platform of some sort to use as a plyo box (could be a park bench), and a place to change, and get to work.

What's a SUSPENSION TRAINER? I have an idea you rig it from a tree branch and do - I don't know - pullups, core work? Please tell.

I don't feel like listing all the stuff- so I'll just tell you the clever one, thanks to one of my MFP friends.

I keep a little bottle of peppermint oil in my bag and put a very small dab under my nose before working out. It keeps me from smelling other people. It's awesome!
Gotta try this! It is funky in there!

Oh wow - what an AWESOME idea. My biggest problem with smelling though is being choked by people's spray perfumes and deodorants next to me on the machines - does the peppermint oil counter that?

I don't know. If the smell itself is what bothers you, maybe. If you have allergies to the airborne aromatics, probably not.
