    :grumble:

I try hard to post a word of encouragement and yes I know people are busy, but so am I and I try. Its seems to be only some of the women on my friends list, the men always say something.. I dont understand what I have done to upset these women.. I am on this site to lose weight only. Thanks for letting me vent. I guess you cant please everyone..

Why do you assume that just because a couple people don't reply to your "wtg!"s and "good job!"s that they are upset with you? Needy, much?

If they aren't interacting with you, then maybe you should just delete them. There is no reason to collect friends just to have a high number.

Don't delete, never ever ever delete. It would throw off your world. Every time someone deletes me, a new hole in my heart is created and I mope for days. I wonder what I could have done differently to get them to be my best friend for life.
    Challenge?

My heart is fragile...please don't. I would forever wander the MFP hallways trying to replace what we had.

    I'll be your friend! :-)

:) All my friends talk dirty to me...

    Sod...mud...fertilizer...dust...grime...filth

...Are you turned on, yet?

I don't like to be a "serial commenter" and just say the same thing on every post to people who post similar things every day.
I equate that sort of thing to how in children's sports, at the end the they make the teams line up and then they walk past each other and high five every player and coach and bat boy or whatever other members of the team chanting, "Good game, good game, good game, good game." I know it's supposed to encourage good sportsmanship, but it's totally insincere. You know those kids do not mean it, particularly if it WASN'T a good game and you slaughtered the other team without any challenge at all. What's the point if the words are meaningless?

A lot of sarcasm and snide remarks here that admittingly I found hilarious. However, in case ignored is hampering your success you need to consider this: The majority of people are probably somewhere in between two extremes:

Chatty people - start lots of threads and make comments about every aspect of their lives. However, those people often collect a lot of friends and just don't have enough time to post a comment to everybody. You are just getting missed -- not ignored.

Quiet people - Their friends here are for viewing menus, exercises, and progress. They are not ignoring you.

I don't think you should take it personally but if it still bothers you when a person doesn't leave you a personal comment everyday, limit your friends to those who will. Seriously, if this kind of thing hinders your progress on MFP, you might want to talk to a professional. Some of the comments on this thread may further damage you.

Personally, I have never put out a friend request to anyone except my husband and 2 real life friends. I do, however, post frequently on the forums, so I guess that's why I get a lot of friend requests. I typically accept them all, even if they don't send a message with their FR (who cares, really?).

I rarely post on people's walls, I don't look at or comment on their diaries unless specifically asked. I will comment occasionally on exercise or status posts if I happen to see something on the news feed. There are a few people who post regularly on my wall and occasionally I will post back to them. I answer questions, if asked, but that's pretty much it.

If someone thinks that's not enough, I guess they'll delete me. Oh well; I don't keep track of how many friends I have anyway.

Well my friends don't ignore me at all. They are very loving! Even when I haven't logged in days they still cheer me on it's a blessing. Anyone who wants to add me as a friend go right ahead I'm all about support and motivation!
  • I've deleted some who after I added them never commented. One sided "friendships" are too much work. Maybe a few new friends in the mix will change things up!
