Would You Let Your Teen Go to This??

My ex-husband's sister contacted me recently and asked if it would be okay for her & her partner to take my daughter to Vidcon next summer. I know that's a long ways off but I guess they want to get their tickets now for some reason. At the time of Vidcon, my daughter will be 15 1/2. I had never even heard of Vidcon until they contacted me. For those of you who haven't heard of it, you can go to Vidcon.com if you'd like more info on it.
My ex-husband is totally cool with them bringing my daughter to this. My only reservations about it are that they'd be flying to California as that's where this Vidcon event is. That's way across the country and I guess that makes me a bit nervous since that would be the first time she's traveled so far with either me or my ex-husband with her. The other thing is that there's supposed to be about 7,000 people going to this Vidcon event so that's the biggest thing that makes me nervous is just what a huge crowd of people are going to be there. On the other hand, she is going to be almost 16 by then and I think the even itself would be a lot of fun for her. So, what would you do if you were me? Would you let her go?
Have any of you ever been to Vidcon before? If so, any input you have about it would be much appreciated!

How mature and responsible is
a. your daughter?
b. your ex sister-in-law?0 -
Hi Anne,
They are both mature and responsible.0 -
I wouldn't sweat it. As long as you trust your daughter and she's got good morals then I wouldn't worry about it. Vidcon is pretty much just a huge conference for a bunch of YouTubers. The event isn't anything to be concerned of. I'd just worry about what she would be doing on her spare time there, i.e. going with a group of people from the event to a party, or w.e.
There are YouTube videos of vidcon you can look up if you're curious.0 -
I would, granted I have no kids of my own, as someone who goes to various conventions (anime, comic, what have you) they are so much fun, a lot of the people you have the chance to meet so many awesome people who like the same things you do! Plus vidcon looks absolutely amazing, its one ive wanted to go to for a while, but due to school, and lack of funds its not an option. So I say yes, but thats just my opinion, good luck either way! : D0

I think since you trust them both. I'd say let her go. I have an 11 year old. So I its tough for me to say I understand. But I think that would be my advice.... Good Luck deary!0
