I'm in for November...I'm training for a 3-day 50 mile walk in March and need to start doing longer walks. My goal for this month is 250,000 miles...hope I can make it!!!

I am off to a great start this month0 -
This is a great challenge. I wear a pedometer all day and it says I've been averaging over 7000 steps a day for the last three months. I would like to increase it to 10,000 but not sure how. I'm busy (like everyone) and I alrady walk to and from work 40 minutes a day. I'll try to increase in November - thanks for your motivation, support and ideas to increase my steps.
Walking to and from work is great!
I do little things to add steps. I march while waiting for something in the microwave or waiting for something to download, use a restroom on a different floor and park further away when I go to the store. I also try not to combine trips up stairs when I am home. I used to pile things on the stairs when cleaning and then take them all up at once.0 -
Count me in also - I too just bought a fitbit and am looking for motivation! Most of my day is spent working at a desk behind a computer and it's tough to get in those 10,000 steps - not to mention right now it's cold outside, and not much daylight for outdoor walking
Flashlight and gloves are now part of my walking things. And if its too cold or raining I use my treadmill.0 -
