    I've had plenty of male friends built like this....actively lift and work out but they STRUGGLE to put on the muscle mass

    No. They aren't. I was 130 lbs a few years ago. Those "naturally built skinny guys" are either not eating or not working out. No one is naturally built. It's hard work and food that does it.

    I have to disagree with you. My Husband is from West Africa and naturally built without doing a thing. And when he does work out? YOWSERS!
