There has been an abundance of threads lately about how mean everyone on here is.

I am not mean.

I am sarcastic, dry and snarky (though only when I think the situation warrants such). I am this way for a reason and you can blame my parents. String them up, if you'd like.

I grew up on Firesign Theatre, Monty Python and Fawlty Towers.

I come by it honestly.

I make no apology. I quite enjoy my sense of humor.

And I like being a pumpkin. This will probably make less sense tomorrow.

    I was dropped on my head repeatedly as a child (seriously, my brothers used me as WWF tackling dummy...they pile-drove me into the couch on numerous ocassions). I also firmly believe this is what stunted my growth :grumble:

    About 90% of my personality quirks (both positive and negative) are pretty clearly either reflections of my parents, or traits that were intentionally or inadvertently encouraged by my parents. So blame them if you don't like me.

    My dad called me "big nose" my mother is a 50 year old who loves winnie the pooh.
    Somehow this combination created this hybrid of a sarcastic, but whimsical person.

    cannot be duplicated, even by a skilled locksmith. Definitely 50/50 on nurture/nature

    I love Python - anything ridiculous in fact makes me happy. Lots of people do actually ask about my personality, because, you know, people who find humor is weird things are JUST SO WEIRD!!! :0

    I found my personality in an alley. I took it home, washed it, gave it a fresh coat of paint, and it was almost as good as new! Except the smell. I just can't make that go away.

    I got mine because I have a dry and twisted sense of humour and I can't stand it when people insult my intelligence or think they have the right to tell me that what I'm doing is wrong when it's perfectly fine (when I'm legitimately screwing up, that's different.) I like being challenged and I don't like having things handed to me. I love science to death, still have faith and love fantasy stories.

    I'm a dreamer and I believe in kindness, but I also believe in acting responsibly, throwing on the big-girl/boy boots and trudging onward even when the going gets tough.

    I'm not mean, I just can't stand stupidity or voluntary ignorance.

    The ability to distinguish fad books and actual literature, having a higher IQ then average, going in and out of depression, having dyslexia, knowing each Monty Python film practically by heart, watching Black Adder every time I was ill as a child, knowing that my humour tends to go over the heads of many, knowing how to pretend for other people and knowing my Mum will never accept me as successful (this has been confirmed by my sister and brothers).

    As an adult, I've been introduced by the boyfriend to so many other British sitcoms that I never knew existed. It's whole new world. Father Ted is probably my favorite.
