probably try to eat within my calorie goals for the day, trying to get some extra walking in that day. Im not a huge fan of thanksgiving foos, but the desserts will be hard.0
-
Cheat day, definitely. At my height and maintenance calories, there's no way I can make it through Thanksgiving without going over!0
-
I think I am going to cheat in moderation....indulge and eat all my favorites....but not go back for seconds and thirds. Also, maybe just sample the desserts or have a small portion of my favorite. I'll log it, as best I can. But, I am not going to stress about it too much. After all, it is a holiday.0

I am trying to meet most of my goal by dec. 7th so I'm shipping the kids to Atlanta for 6 days. That should help immensely!0

Can we wait until we are solidly in November.......................Next it will be what are you plans for Christmas.....sheeesh.
But to answer your question....feed my f'ing face.0 -
Thanksgiving has already come and gone here. A few weeks ago.0

I plan on doing all the calorie counts on my normal food, and have them ready to use!
I also plan on making my own salad (helps that it'll be at my house), and eating the whole thing before I go and fill a plate with my normal food.
And I'm for sure going to eat a couple of pieces of pecan pie... MMmmmmm.... pie....0 -

thanksgiving and Christmas eve/day I will not be logging and eating whatever I want haha.0
-
I'm planning on staying within my day-I'm also running a 5K that morning which will help
Also, by the time Thanksgiving comes around, I'm done. We do a thanksgiving at work so I can only eat turkey for one day-which will help for the actual day with my family since I'll be busy at work putting everything out0 -
I plan on going for a run that morning to earn more calories, but it's more or less a cheat day for me. It's my favorite holiday, so I'm not going to hold back from enjoying myself. Typically I only eat 1 helping of things anyway...I can't eat a lot at one sitting. Now that doesn't mean I don't go back within an hour or so to get more. But I usually don't...0

I'm not going to log, but I'm not going to go overboard either.0

Silly Canadians.
Did I miss black Friday?!?!
but seriously: I will be copying the actions of Patrick:

I plan on eating what I want at Thanksgiving but in moderation (no 2nd slice of pie or massive pile of gravy covered potatoes) and I'll figure out the calories later. I've always been one of the people in our family who eats the least on Thanksgiving, rarely going back for 2nds of anything other than dessert (because of a severe sweet tooth).
My real challenge will be spending that weekend in NYC with my Dad when he flies in from Florida and wants to take me out to eat all over the city!0 -

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to you:):) :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
Planning not to count, but not get crazy and only eat a mealtime (no all day snacking). I'm running a casual 5K that morning and a half-marathon the Saturday after to help justify eating some gravy and pie.0

It's just another day, but with different food than normal.
I won't be stuffing myself with foods I can eat any day i.e. mashed potatoes,....but I will be having small amounts of my MIL's pork stuffing, my aunts pumpkin pie, and my mom's fruit salad. I enjoy all of it, within my calorie goals.0 -
cheat in moderation, which is to say get my TDEE around 2400 calories. i trust that i'll know when to stop.
i anticipate being forced to play football again this year (though i'm 50lbs lighter) which will burn off some calories.0 -
I'm going to eat everything! IDGAF about calories when surrounded by all that yummy food0
-
I might keep track... but I will eat a nice big thanksgiving meal... after dropping 30 pounds figure I deserve it ...0
-
I'm not going to worry about it at all. I mean, I may try not to eat until I am sick like I used to do, but I am not going to count calories or skip any of my favorites on that day.
We will be doing it a week early though since Thanksgiving falls on the week my mom has chemo. Meaning she won't really be up to eating a huge meal. Instead, we will do it the Tuesday the week before while some of my family is in town and during the week where mom feels the best.
Right now I am thinking about (for 5 people):
Turkey
"Family" Stuffing
Corn Bread Dressing
Cranberry Sauce
Rolls
Green Bean Casserole
Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream
Peanut Butter Pie
And setting it up buffet style.0 -
I'm only saving room for plenty of Pumpkin pie!! (Can do without the rest.)0

Wel, I am the one cooking. And I plan on logging everything in. I will probably go over by a bit, but it is a day to spend with the family. And I will be on my feet the day before prepping and in the hot kitchen most of the day too. I plan on going for a walk after everyone leaves. I do an all day buffet for my family and friends, but I do make sure there is a veggie and fruit tray. But I will have that slice of pumpkin pie and a homemade chocolate truffle! All washed down with a nice white wine. :drinker:0

I'm not going to log, but I'm not going to go overboard either.
Agreed0 -
my family is having a small thanksgiving early because we are going on vacation forthe holiday. I'll be doing a lot of walking on that trip so definitely going be a cheat day...just not going to go over the top overboard with it.0

I am going to eat whatever I want and drink whatever I want. Just till I am full, take a nap, then eat and drink more. duh.0
-
I'm going to eat dessert first this year0
-
My family decided to escape the yearly extended family drama by going to Florida for Thanksgiving so we are going out for dinner. I kind of hope they have vegetarian options because I normally fill up on sides since I'm not crazy about turkey. I'm hoping I get medical clearance to run by then then I'll make it a maintenance day and hopefully burn 400-500 so I can eat like 2000 calories.0

My holidays are as follows:
Wake up.
have protein shake.
Go to grandparents.
Eat small amount, as is required so as not to offend the elderly.
Protein shake.
Drive 1.5 hours to dads house.
eat small amount, so as not to offend the grumpy.
Drive 1.5 hours back.
Go to hubbys family.
Protein shake.
turn down more food, nobody is offended because everyone is stuffed stupid by now.
watch everyone sit on couch and groan miserably.
go home.
snack on veggie tray remnants that nobody ever eats.
go to bed.
repeat for christmas.0
