How about something active! Look into adventures. Make it a family date!

    Geocatching
A hike to a beautiful area
    Zip lining
    Snow tubing
    A ski lesson
A class run by your state parks
    Camping
A game of lazer tag or paintball

I actually have started collecting charms - sterling silver for each 10 lbs lost. My bracelet will be full.. Each one represents something I can now do a NSV so to speak. Flip flop - cause I can wear a bathing suit now.. scale - cause I can get on it without shedding a tear. etc.. It's just something I enjoy. Good Luck..

    I LOVE this idea!

Me too. Have been looking at charms. Can anybody recommend a make that are good quality but not about £30 each plus like the pandora etc ones.

My reward for hitting my half-way-there goal was a Shellac-manicure! I love it - never had nice nails in my life, now they look elegant and well-groomed, and it lasts for about 4 weeks. I think I have become a Shellac-lifer, haha! :)

What about a subscription to a magazine you have been wanting, or a book you really want to read? It doesn't have to be something really big.

Rewards are important. New clothing (as vain as it may sound) is a great way to remind yourself every day how well you are doing and how much better you are looking. I took up my jeans down the sides as I lost weight until I had to buy new ones. BUT tops and especially lingere were are real motivator! An external and private daily reminder!

When I hit mini-goals, I treat myself to something related to my hobby - art supplies.

This is a great idea! I have 2 charm bracelets, 1 gold and 1 silver, that I created purchasing charms on eBay. You have to be careful that the seller has great feedback and verify the quality of the charms, but that's part of the fun too, hunting down your charms.

Ive suggested to my b/f that for every 25 lbs i loose he buy me a rose. I will dry then after and save the petals in a special basket for potpourri. The big goals, like 100 lbs,(i hope to someday have 2 of those) will get a bouquet that can be dried as well. those roses will get center space on our dining room table to always remind us, and the rest of the family, of the heart and soul that will have gone into my weight loss.

Lots of great ideas. I have a "skinny shirt" and I wear it every weekend to remind me how far I've come. Even if you got a clearance rack tank top that you could wear under something (since it's cold cold cold), something that makes you feel good and reminds you how far you have come.

Pandora is what I have also. I picked up a tea pot, because I drink green tea everyday.
    1st was a number #24 - where I began in pants size
2nd was a tennis shoe - from working out at the gym
    Just a few to mention.
I have 25 more to lose, I haven't picked out the remainder ones.

I have seen where some people do money jars for themselves. So you pick the $ amount and when you want to be rewarded. So say you choose a dollar a pound or something like that so every time you lose 1 pound you drop a dollar in the jar. Then at the end you use that money to splurge on a new outfit you wouldn't normally buy, or spa time, etc. This way you are still getting rewarded but it also saves money for something big later.

And if you are anything like me it took me about 2.5 months to lose 20 lbs so if I chose even $5 at each reward stop it wouldn't take much out of the current budget but will add up over time!

I like this idea.. A friend at work yesterday suggested to me, getting some gold stickers and putting one on for each 10 lbs I lost. I am altering it a bit and going to do a blank ID badge/nametag and find some 10 lb weight images (kettleball or dumbells maybe) and put those on the badge. Since I have a lot of weight to lose in total, I think I'll make a 25 lb weight and start adding 10's til I need another 25, etc.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Like I said earlier, I work 60'ish hours a week (and I work late enough that appointments for anything isn't practical :( ). I can't take time off from work for financial/medical reasons with my family. So time off for mani/pedi's really isn't doable. It's also not me. Not yet, anyway LOL. It's in my end goal though to do something like a mini makeover at the end of my weight loss to go get my hair done, my nails and see about some minimal makeup suggestions for my skin tone, etc.

Since I am at my 25 lb mark (need to update MFP this morning!) I will have to add some extra $ per pound until I can "pay" for this 25 lbs a little at a time until I have the money all caught up. $1 per lb while it adds up.. I think $5 per pound would be a better way for me. And it will help me save some cash up, hah.

Thank you all for the ideas!!

I am getting a pedicure when I hit 25 pounds. I know it's not summer but I want the foot massage and some pampering!

Later on, I'm planning a budior photoshoot with a friend of mine who is a photographer. It will be tasteful but suggestive? Is that possible? LOL. I'll have my hair done and then go straight to the photoshoot. Take a few normal pictures and then the budior pictures. It will probably be when I get to goal.

Hmmm. Need to think of something in between the 2.
  • I always get more sports things. From a new water bottle to a cute, smaller top. When I use them, it reminds me of my accomplishments so far! Way to Go!!!

I really agree with 'JanaeCull's' post. I get things I want, affordable and remind me I have accomplished this already. One thing I got was a watch that records calories burned and miles walked. It was well-reviewed and only $25.00 or $30.00 from CostCo.

    - A day at the spa is out, but what about a manicure or a pedicure? They're less expensive and take less time.

    - A matinee movie?

    - A bottle of local wine / new box of tea/ coffee you've wanted to try?

    - a haircut?

    - a new, healthy food you've been wanting to try?

    - a new pair of shoes?

    - New bra and bottom set? (Target often has some nice ones)

    - a new hair color?

    - If there's a massage academy / school nearby, sometimes they offer legit massages at discounted rates.

I'm stealing this list and giving making some of these my rewards.

I like the badge idea...I had never heard of that before. Part of why I like the money jar idea is because you can make it fit your budget no matter what. So if you were super rich you could add $100 per pound, me personally living check to check $1-5 is more resonable...and some people choose $10-20. But all in all it's a nice way to save money. It can get expensive replacing a wardrobe so even if at the end you don't use all the cash on one item, you can always bargain shop and hit some clearance racks and get a lot of nice things.

I know its a little odd but I got my belly button pierced after I lost 30 pounds. I always wanted it done since I was in high school but I was "too fat". Now that I have it, I love it!

I like to get my hair done, buy new clothes, getting new boots after I lose 2 more pounds, go to the movies, get myself a new top or pants etc. The options are endless.

I know lots of people this site get tattoos as end rewards!!

Yup, that's what I'm doing. Once I hit my mid-goal weight I'm going to get myself a pretty new Canadian tattoo!!
