Odd Foods You Loved As A Kid

Oysters, clams, any shellfish. Weird for a 5 year old.
My daughter has been eating this stuff and sushi since she was like 2 lol she loves it.0 -
Does anyone else remember when the pizza Lunchables used to come with marinara sauce, cheese sauce, chocolate sauce, M&Ms, and pepperoni? Yeah, I would use one crust to make a "normal" pizza, one with cheese only, and one with cheese mixed with the chocolate with pepperoni on top. I'd eat the M&Ms separately. I'm vegetarian now, but aside from that, I would totally eat that again... MMMM!0

I was the weird kid who liked butter WAY to much. I would wake up extra early so I could stick my finger in the tub of butter and eat it like icing without my mom chasing me around with a fly swatter. I also liked to eat jelly by itself as well. Waffle house workers would hide the butter and Jelly racks when I came in... True Story....0

my sister used to do the same thing with butter. It got so bad that they were planning to put a lock on the refrigerator at one point.0 -
i can distictly remember drinking vinigar at one point in time.......out of a cup. think i was like 4....0

White wonder bread, hellmans mayonaise, and FRITOS. YUMMY!
NOTE: Miracle whip is NOT mayonaise0 -
I absolutely LOVED one of my mom's childhood favorites--peanut butter and mayo sandwich.
I also loved my grandma's night-time specialty "milk and bread"--buttered bread cut into pieces and then put in a bowl with milk. Microwave the whole thing until warm. I still sometimes do this when I'm feeling sick.
Oh, and my best friend and I used to experiment with food and make our own recipes. My lucky little sister "got to" (ie. was forced to) try them all. Our best combo yet (and actually found in a cookbook which I still own) was "orange soda"...orange juice mixed with Coke! Ewwwww!0 -
Cooked Spinach. It was a Popeye fascination when I was really little.
Now, I can have spinach dip, raw spinach, but once it's cooked and turns into that slimy mess...Blech! :sick:0 -
I LOVED oysters, broccoli, brussel spouts, cabbage...
Basically any vegetable normal kids would hate. Not many kindergartners love oysters.
(Helps when your dad is a waterman.)
Also I liked to take chopped up fish sticks, mac n cheese and canned peas, mix it all together and douse it with ketchup. Yuck!0 -

I would ONLY eat the Popeye brand spinach as a kid. I told my dad all the other kinds sucked because they wouldn't give me muscles like the Popeye brand would.0 -
Mushrooms plain out of the can.
My grilled cheese sandwiches dipped in honey (Still YUM)
I also loved avocados and hummus and always was teased at school for it.0 -
I liked to eat tomatoes like they were apples. Just chomp all the way through them. Then if my mom was cutting them on the counter, I would reach up and try to grab the diced pieces. Wasn't even tall enough to see where I was reaching. Got yelled at several times for "almost having your hand chopped off!"0

I loved ketchup and a hot dog bun, MINUS THE HOT DOG...I grew up vegetarian!0
-
I LOVED artichokes as a kid! To me they were better than candy!
Me too!0 -
Grape jelly and mayonnaise sandwiches. My Grandma used to eat them, I loved them!0
-
I would only eat hot dogs cold....straight out of the package.0
-
Pineapple and mayo (dukes) sandwiches were (or still are) one of my favorite things0
-
Lima beans, spinach and drinking dill pickle juice from the jar...0
-
Butter and sugar sandwiches. Brownies and cheese at the same time.0
-
This isant odd but I loveddd turkey twiszzlers they don't do them no more0
-
andy capp's hot fries, literally soaked in vinegar.0
-
Raw, sliced potato. I used to steal a couple of pieces from my mom when she was cutting them up to make mashed potatos. Bizarrely, I have never really liked homemade mashed potatos. I've always prefered the instant mashed potatos.0

Same here. And I couldn't stop at just 1. I had to have 2 or 3.
Also, my mother told me I used to eat mayonnaise sandwiches and applesauce in my cereal instead of milk, but I don't remember any of that.0 -
boiled cabbage in warm milk. Lots of salt and pepper!0
-
bottled lemon juice and salt, in a cup
Whole diced onion sautee'd in butter and eaten on ritz crackers
mustard greens (YUMMM), radishes, turnips-still love
saltines dipped in ranch dressing (the kind you mix with mayo and milk, not the bottled kind)
KFC biscuits topped with mashed potatoes (no gravy) and cole slaw-strangely disgusting now
raw potato chunks
My parents never had much trouble getting us to eat veggies, we still love them, but I had a phobia of green bellpeppers and would spend an hour picking them out of food before I'd eat them. Still not crazy about them raw but I can cook with them.0 -
raw beef and butter. I used to get in trouble all the time for getting into the fridge and getting that. My mom was convinced that I would die if I ate raw meat, but I kept doing it anyway. I'm not sure why I craved it so much.
I remember sneaking slices of raw bacon and eating it. Just tasted better to me eating it raw. Still like my steaks bloody and mooing at me....yum! Also, I used to eat kipper snacks and liverwurst as a kid.0 -

boxed mac and cheese with a can of peas mixed in...no idea how this got started but I still kind of like it to this day, granted I don't eat boxed mac and cheese anymore...
also I remember in junior high school trying french dressing on pizza...so weird but the crust is pretty amazing dipped in it lol0 -
A fried egg on top of a piece of toast, smothered in A1. Still pretty good stuff....0
-
Mayo and cheese sandwiches. That's it. I loved them to the point of obsession. Now the thought makes me want to hurl0
