How many calories do YOU burn during a 'good' workout?

Hi guys! I had a discussion with my friend regarding calories burned after a workout.
And were wondering how many calories different people burn when they're done doing a I-feel-hella-good-about myself workout (you guys know what I mean lol) this question is directed to the people that have HRMs and track their calorie burn, how much do u usually burn during it? I for example have around 500-600 burned, whereas my brother burns much more (~800 abd he's good to go) and my friend much less (300 kcal) :)

I just posted a similar question yesterday. With my HRM, I burn about 300-400, but am trying to increase that to 500-600. If I went by my apps and MFP, I'd already be there. But I want to REALLY be there!
  • 100 every 10 minutes that I am working out. That way I can work out 30 minutes or an hour or whatever and still know if I feel like I'm working. That might not be high for some, but for me, that's tough.

700 - 800. I try to do 7 daysa week but sometimes only have the getup and go for 5 or 6.

300 for a "regular" workout during the week after a 12-13 hour day at work

500-600 for a "good" workout on the weekends when I have more time and energy to push.

It takes a lot for me to burn a huge amount! For me I am happy with 200-300 but I am in maintenance mode. If I do the elliptical for 30 mins I am lucky to burn 200 :(

900-1100 if I really push myself. I usually burn that much as I work horrible unsociable hours and can only get to the gym every 2-3 days a week, so the time I do have there, I really push myself to try and I guess compensate for the other days I couldn't get to gym.

400 or more is a great day for me. That's about 50 min of working out on an elliptical. I strive for at least 300.

400 is a good workout result for me.
  • I like strength training, so I don't know how much I actually burn, but I guess 300 calories.

    750-1000 :)
  • 500-700. It depends on how much you weigh. More weight...more calories burned.

I dont stop until I've burned at least 500. This is usually about 50 min. of exercise. At least twice a week I keep going until I burn 750.

I don't know how accurate the treadmills, elliptical machines and stairsteppers are, as far as calories burned (they ask my age and weight), but I can burn about 750 on the elliptical machine in 65 minutes, about 600 on the treadmill in an hour, and 500 or so on the stairstepper in 45 minutes. I've been exercising 6 days a week since the start of summer, so my resistance levels are cranked up, my running speed is higher, and my fitness level is much better than it was then, too. So take that into consideration. I'm still trying to lose another approximately 30lbs, so I try to shoot for burning 1000 calories in a 90 minute cardio workout.

Between 450 and 475 is a great intense workout for me (averaging higher than 80% of my max hr). It is not possible for me to go much higher than that based on my bodyweight and max hr.

But make sure you're using a HRM.

I try for 10 calories per minute. So a 30 minute workout would be 300, or a 60 minute workout would be 600.

I can kill 1000+ calories on a serious bootcamp session - burpees anyone?!?! lol

    Mainly I burn 500+ /hr :)

    Depends largely on my activity.

This morning, for example, I had a great half hour on my rowing machine (6,530m.....just shy of my PB)and burned just under 400 cal according to my HRM. On a long Sunday run it can be over 1,500 cal depending on where I am on my training schedule. Just for laughs last week I wore my HRM during my indoor soccer game - 902 cal in an hour.
  • ~580 (warm-up bike, arm bike, elliptical), plus whatever calories I burn in sit-ups and strength exercises.

Ah...one of the downfalls of being only 5 feet tall and approximately 106 lbs...energy/calories burned from workouts is smaller than what other people do. A "good" workout for me is about 250 (possibly 300) calories in about 50 minutes. I try to do this about twice a week, but on days I have classes I usually only have time for about 30 minutes at hopefully 200ish calories.
  • Depends on how long I workout. No less than 200, but I like to do at least 300-400. Those of you that are burning 1000 calories in a workout, how long are you working out? I can do that on a 2hr bike ride, but that isn't really working that hard to me.

About 380 for a 40min workout on my cardio & abs days, much fewer on my strength days. (for comparison, I'm 5'2" and 120lbs +/-3)

I'm happy if I can burn 200 to 250. For me that's a great workout!

500-600 is usually mine as well, although this morning I burned 677 for a 60 minute Spin class and a 20 min. core workout!
