I got fairly close to it when I was younger, but I've had a job since I turned 16 so I never could get away with anything. Now I've outgrown the desire to cut it weirdly. I am still planning on dying it as a reward to myself when I lost 40 more pounds, though. But it'll just be red ombre and my hair grows in black. I'm too lazy to keep up with an actual hair style haha

    Love it!
  • I have always, always, always wanted to shave my head, just once, just to experience the freedom of it. My conservative husband would probably leave me. He hates the fact that I have a TINY nose stud and a couple tiny tattoos. He's so boring.

Alas, I have no real pics that I can find, but I did have some magenta hair for a while and then before that I rocked a pretty severe undercut. It's still growing out after two years. Looking for something new to do...

I've had a pixie cut for the past 3 and a half years...I love it. However, the first time I got it done was when it looked the best...the woman that cut it unfortunately was just filling in for someone who was sick that day at the salon, and doesn't work anywhere near me. :frown: I'm currently letting it grow out longer, since I miss my long hair, now.

Please excuse this terrible photo...it's back from when I was 22 and thought all self-taken photos were supposed to have the "Myspace angle."

Pixie cuts are alternative??? Okay, I guess I qualify.

ETA: It was in a shaggy stage then, shorter right now, and my pink got toned out when I re-bleached. I'm thinking of going all-over pink next month, then I will think I qualify as alternative hair.

I have had hair of so many different colours and cuts. I'm dying to get an undercut but I think I might get sacked if I get one!!! :(

When I met my husband, my hair was short, blonde, with black and pink bangs. A while ago I had dark brown hair with blue and pink under the back portion. I don't have pics though- they are on my other computer. But now my hair is just long, brownish/red with blonde highlights. I REALLY need to do something fun with it! I have always wanted to shave my head- I think that is SO awesome!

Sad to say I've gone mainstream since highschool, but back then when I dressed punk I had a short disconnected cut with longer pieces in the front and short spikes that I put colored gel in in the back. I loved it, but eventually got tired of people being afraid of me and decided I wanted friends more than I cared to make a statement, lol!

I work in a very very busy retail store  In general all people suck but at the end of the day me my husband and kids are all that matter. Screw everyone else!!

I just got a pixie cut and i love it. i'd love to get some funky colors put in it, but I also have a boring husband and he wouldn't approve. Even thought I might just do it anyways.

Yeah, my husband doesn't approve, but it's my head and he always forgives me even if he'd never "give permission"

I don't have alternative hair, but my 12 year old son does. At the age of 5, he informed me that he wanted to grow a ponytail. I said, "Fine, it's your body, you get to decide." For the next 6 years, he had long hair and in spite of serious pressure from peers (being called a girl) and well meaning relatives ("you look like a hippie!") he maintained the length. Last year he decided he wanted to do something different. Again, I said, "Fine, what would you like to do?" "I want a mohawk, mom!"
He's got the 'hawk now and loves it, and now instead of being "that weirdo with the long hair", he's "that kid with the really awesome hair", and several of his peers envy him his open-minded mom. :-)
