I have done the cleanse and in my experience it was actually a good experience, it helped me get back on track, and helped with some issue I had after taking my cruise..

I did the Dr Oz cleanse and have stayed on it for months now. I quit watching him! Cleansed him right off my TV and I feel soooooo much better now.

I hear that works wonders for the mind and body :drinker:

What exactly are you "cleansing"? Do you not have a working colon, stomach, kidney, or liver?

Usually with Dr. Oz and his latest "fad" it's the cleansing of your wallet.

Things like this make me laugh! Some person just wants to try something new and a majority of people are wasting his/her time by writing stupid comments about how much they hate Dr. Oz and blah blah blah.....what the person asked was "hey, I am doing a 3 day cleanse, want to join?"........what they DIDN'T ask was "Hey, how do you feel about the Dr. Oz 3 day cleanse?" So, can it everyone and answer the question asked. Oh, and my answer is no. I don't do well with cleansing because I just become too hungry to concentrate and binge out.
Yep. I definitely believe a "cleanse" or even a juice fast can clear the body of toxins and help the immune system. To each their own.

I just started this cleanse today, so I am with you. I am using it because I am trying to kick my sugar habit and I think of this a jumpstart. Even if it isn't perfect. If I do this and feel a little lighter, proud of myself, and have spent 3 days sugar free, I am hoping that will be a little motivation to jumpstart better eating. Good luck to you.

    Day 1 Dr.Oz cleanse-

Day started with the green tea and lemon wedge. AM smoothie was with raspberries spinach and flax, truly awesome shake.

Afternoon was the green machine kale, pineapple etc , same at 4 pm. The amount was enormous about 2 big glass full. Will need to cut down a little tomorrow. Night is the mango, kale flaxseeds.

Now I am not exagerating I truly do feel an increased energy and clarity. The smoothies have coconut oil, almond butter and almond milk for satiety. One day and I can feel the increased energy from removing processed/cooked food from my diet. I eat grains and dairy i the form of milk and yogurt and removing it today made me individually feel better. Will give a report for tomorrow.

Dr. Oz is a promoter of unproven "medicine" and pseudoscience. Anybody who critically looks into his promotions dismisses them/him.
The Media Pigasus Award goes to Dr. Mehmet Oz, who has done such a disservice to his TV viewers by promoting quack medical practices that he is now the first person to win a Pigasus two years in a row. Dr. Oz is a Harvard-educated cardiac physician who, through his syndicated TV show, has promoted faith healing, "energy medicine," and other quack theories that have no scientific basis. Oz has appeared on ABC News to give legitimacy to the claims of Brazilian faith healer “John of God,” who uses old carnival tricks to take money from the seriously ill. He's hosted Ayurvedic guru Yogi Cameron on his show to promote nonsense "tongue examination" as a way of diagnosing health problems. This year, he really went off the deep end. In March 2011, Dr. Oz endorsed "psychic" huckster and past Pigasus winner John Edward, who pretends to talk to dead people. Oz even suggested that bereaved families should visit psychic mediums to receive (faked) messages from their dead relatives as a form of grief counseling.

Ever since he has his own platform..I've lost total respect for the man. He has a new 'diet' almost every day. Really dude, get serious and quit trying to sell pills or formulas and focus on a healthy diet and exercise. Oh yea..because people don't want to hear that..they want magic.

I am with you on this. I bought all the supplies today and will start it tomorrow morning.
  • I know there are a lot of skeptics about cleansing, as we've all read in this thread. However, if you do a cleanse in a healthy way, its a great way to "reset" your body and ultimately give you a boost in the right direction. Dr. Oz isn't the only one who endorses cleanses, many other nutritionists and drs. recommend them as well.

Please stay on track with your cleanse and ignore the negativity that you have received from your "pals" on this site. I'm new on here, but if there was a way for you to delete the negatives and keep the positives I would definitely do that. We are all supposed to be supporting one another here.

We should be trying to support people with things that have evidence that they work and are healthy methods.
So please explain and provide citations how your body "resets" and I'm willing to change my mind.

I do want to try it but I just don't know when.

after a frontal lobotomy would be the ideal time to avoid the ensuing guilt trip when you finally take the time to learn something about how your body works
  • I'm not here to argue with people, to prove a point or to push an agenda other than to encourage this person who is trying to be healthy. I'm here for support and to provide it for others, my message was directed toward the person who is doing the cleanse. I am appalled how people attack one another on these message boards.

I've been looking at doing something similar. I've seen his recipes and they seem quite heavily loaded with sugary fruits etc. I'm thinking of switching 2 meals per day to a green smoothie (berries, kale, spinach, flaxseed, soymilk, protein powder etc). His smoothies don't seem to have enough fibrous greens or protein to sustain you especially during exercise. Would love to know how you go though. MY mum did this and said she felt great afterwards.

Oh behave yourself, what do you expect when you arrive at a forum like this that actively promotes weightloss in a healthy way, and someone arrives and says 'hey i'm going to live on nothing but juice for the next few days, isn't it great!?' It's exactly the same as when people post on here who are following extremily low calorie diets (which basically a juice diet is anyway)

Yes you may not ask for that opinion, but the majority of people on here are here to lose weight the healthy long term way, not to promote short fixes that ultimately will lead to you regaining any weight you lose. We are passionate yes, we are sometimes sarcastic as well and yes we often like to argue as well but if you come on here and post you can bet that the members will give you an opinion whether you want it or not. The majority of members are hugely helpful and supportive. For the ones that arn't theres the ignore button.

If you don't like it I'm pretty sure you could find a juicing, fasting, colon cleansing, body re-setting forum elsewhere.

I see a lot of people have negative opinions about the cleanse, but the way I look at it is Dr. Mark Hyman a reasonably reputed author was endorsing this cleanse . Everyone has to transition from being unhealthy to healthy and this is a good bridge. Just like one cannot stop smoking, drinking instantaneously one has to be weaned off. Even children wean as an infant. To restrict grains, dairy, sugar ,salt takes gradual weaning and I feel this cleanse is a great jumpstart to reduce junk food eating and into a healthy lifestyle.

Day 2 of the cleanse the increased energy and clarity is present.Feeling extremely light I am sure have lost weight. I had trouble going up and down stairs and today it seemed easy.
Definetly it is what I am not eating which is making me feel well and truly this cleanse I would recommend .

There's bugger all to cleanse that won't sort itself out when you eat decent food anyway.

If you're feeling sh*tty because of what you ate, stop eating it.

Enjoy your diarrhoea all the same.

Well 3rd day of the cleanse is done. Feel good, energized to start eating healthy and get rid of processed food.

Agreed everyone has their own opinion on cleanses but it did get me into a routine.I am a constant snacker and this made me not snack.

Lost 2.5 lbs which I feel good about.

    Good for you!

I had a similar goal to yours. I eat far too many processed carbohydrates. I tried this "de-tox" to help me get my carb habit under control. I always find if I can just stop for a couple of days, the cravings for those particular food types subside.

I've been following this plan for two days now. I am probably not going to do the third day. My normal diet is about 1/3 calories from protein so these shakes are leaving me tired with low energy. I am certainly not hungry at all. Today, I halved the lunch shake because it was so enormous yesterday. Neither day have I been able to add a snack shake. Just too full.

In any case, I feel my "mission" is accomplished. I don't recall ever consuming such a volume of fresh fruits and vegetables in two days before.

Save your time and money. If you have functioning organs you're just fine. Dr. Oz is a snake oil salesman created by the Oprah.

Today Dr. Oz was pretty much endorsing Sensa, that stuff that is supposed to curb your appetite if you sprinkle it on your food. So...I highly doubt that he is someone people should listen to.
