I use them everyday in my overnight oatmeal
I have never tried chia seeds... but my dietician just recommended I make steel cut oats "overnight." Seems like you have had success doing that... what else do you put in your overnight oatmeal? How many nights do you make it?
I don't actually use steel cut oats in mine, I use old fashioned oats since you don't cook them with my recipe, but this is what I use for my base recipe:
1/4 cup uncooked old fashioned rolled oats
1/3 cup Almond milk
1/4 cup low-fat Greek yogurt
2 teaspoons dried chia seeds
1 tablespoon PB2 powdered peanut butter
then in the morning I usually top it off with walnuts
I usually make 2 in a 8oz mason jar at a time, and eat it 5 or 6 days a week0 -
I make my own granola bars, and always toss in a few tablespoons of whole chia seeds along with the oats, fruit, and nuts. They do get stuck in your teeth, though, or more specifically, around your teeth. An hour or so later, you'll realize something there, and it's all gel-puffed, haha. You get used to it, though, and can think of it as a tiny little encore snack.0
