I get that there are different opinions on breakfast and your metabolism but it makes total sense to eat a healthy breakfast so you don't end up starving and staring at a table full of foods. You'll make better choices and eat more reasonable portions if you not super hungry.
Thanks for the reminder OP.
For some people, yes. For others, breakfast is just calories that could be saved for a bigger dinner.
Thank you! No one seems to believe me that breakfast is completely unnecessary and way overrated. Due to different "diet"s I had periods of trying to force myself to eat breakfast (ever heard of Tim Ferris? you have to eat 20g of protein within 30 mins of waking up?? worst time dieting ever haha) and I definitely felt much worse than normal. I got hungrier, crankier, more bloated, and I hated the action of eating so early in my day.... It actually ends up making me gain weight indirectly
As an example, you are one of the reasons why I seemingly waste my time battling this nonsense. Because there's probably thousands of other people like you who mistakenly (through following bad resources) believe that they need to adhere to a specific meal pattern or meal timing in order to see results. I'm glad you figured it out.
Skipping breakfast, or doing various forms of Intermittent Fasting is a freakin AMAZING tool in terms of satiety for SOME people. For others it's just a bad fit and they're better off doing something more traditional. But understanding that it's really preferential is huge.
Also, Tim Ferris seems pretty clueless IMO.0 -
I'm a total fat kid! I have been skipping my weekly cheats to allow myself one day of unholiness! Cheesecake here I come!0

I'm going to let the pumpkin pie boost my metabolism. :drinker:0

As for breakfast, the main benefits include that kids and teens who eat breakfast have statistically higher school performance. I can look at my gradebook and tell you who eats breakfast.0

well i know you need to eat breakfast to get your metabolism started for the day
false.
a friend of mine here once said "too many people worry about what to eat between thanksgiving and new years, when they should be worrying about what to eat between new years and thanksgiving."
THIS! While it's good to not over do it on Thanksgiving, it's about a lifestyle.
That being said, I plan on having a nutritious breakfast, getting in a good workout, a light lunch and a big portion of Thanksgiving without blowing it.0 -

I was in the top 1% of my graduating high school class and graduated summa cum laude from college. I never ate breakfast as a kid and rarely ate it at college.
Correlation =\= causation. I'd hope as an educator, that concept would be familiar to you.0 -

I tend to agree with this. Lack of glycogen in the brain makes it very difficult for me to think straight in the morning. Give me my breakfast! :drinker:0 -
I like OP. OP is willing to read and learn. This is rare.
