I am talking about the barbie like dolls like "Bratz" etc, always advertised as skimpy dressed party lovers with all the bling. Is that really the message that should be sent to kids. The commercials are on all the time. I do not know what kids are allowed to go clubbing like they show on t.v...............

I think they are, they teach girls how to grow up and properly dress like club sluts and hookers and ho's. Thats all girls really need to know to get by in life....right?

I was looking at dolls the other day to buy for my niece. She's a SUPER GIRLIE little girl. She's always wearing dresses (long) and frilly crap. I COULD NOT FIND A SINGLE BARBIE THAT WASN'T DRESSED in super tight, super revealing, super short clothes. It was horrible.

I just wanted one doll that was as classy and adorable as my niece. I couldn't find it. ):

Thank goodness my daughter doesn't play with Barbies. She'll be a street racer or jack a tank, but at least she won't look like a skanopotamus.

People put too much though into this crap... seriously my 7.5 year old niece LOVES monster High dolls.. she has quite a few, we watch the Monster high webisodes and the TV specials and the movie and honestly the last thing she looks at is the clothes, and she doesn't want to dress like them she just thinks they are cool.

And really is it worse than Jem and She-Ra from the 80's ??? they ran around in body suits for god sake...

My daughters both LOVE monster high dolls. & they do have a movie out & we've watched it together. Nothing negative on it. Its all for fun & teaches that being different is ok. Something I want my girls to always keep in mind w/ them selves or with other kids or people who are different

Agreed...I enjoy the Monster High movie & cartoons. And my daughter LOVES them...she has quite the collection of dolls from this series. I think they're awesome...and would rather spend money on these than Barbies.

DUDE! Even without the doll made for it, myself and my little girl friends used to pretend to breastfeed our baby dolls. We knew what it was and why pretend if you're not going to go all out. :P

I played with all those kinds of dolls and hacked them up and played serial killer and staged murder scenes, and I turned out just fine! Just Saying...........................(thats true by the way)

These are really the only "barbie" type dolls my daughter has...they are called Moxie Girls or something like that. The only reason she has them is because she rides English herself...

Monster High/Bratz/Barbie -- that's why American Girl Dolls cost so much (or should I say that's why they can charge so much.). Because they are one of the few exceptions to the club-going doll rule.

    I did this too!!!
  • when i have kids the only thing i'll let them play with is giant stuffed animals and those cool pillow pets (: hopefully that'll teach them to be kind to animals and save the environment.

  • We will NOT be buying our daughter anything like that. Not even as a teenager.

Honestly, I do NOT think they are inappropriate. I'm 17 years old, so less than 10 years ago I was playing with BARBIE, BRATZ, ect. Never once did I even think twice about their outfits, or did it have an influence on my wardrobe. I am not just speaking for myself-- many of my friends would also agree.

The doll is actually a piece of "art" that signifies how dolls teach young girls maternal instincts or something like that. Its not actually meant for girls to play with - I read an article on the whole thing because I thought it was so freaky.
